Park Hae Jin and Lee Moo Saeng's agencies shut down speculations around being arrested for drug use; to take strong legal action

South Korean actors Park Hae Jin and Lee Moo Saeng's agencies have shut down speculations that they were the actors who were recently arrested for drug use. Both their agencies firmly denied the rumours and even said that if these false rumours continue to spread, they will take strong legal actions.

Artist Company, on behalf of Park Hae Jin, released an official statement on September 11. As per translation by Korean media portal Soompi, it read, "We have confirmed that there have recently been groundless falsehoods spreading on online communities about Park Hae Jin having anything to do with the male actor in his forties who was arrested on charges of drug use. This is completely false, and Park Hae Jin has no relation whatsoever to the case in question. If groundless falsehoods related to this case continue to be spread, we plan to respond with strong legal action against those who have written and spread these falsehoods. We are informing you that our agency will continue to take strong legal action against malicious acts, such as defamation of character and the spread of malicious rumors, in order to protect the honor and rights of our actors."

Before that, on Saturday September 10, Alien Company on behalf of Lee Moo Saeng, released a strong statement which read, "Regarding the male actor in his forties who was arrested on charges of drug abuse, our agency has confirmed that there are currently groundless falsehoods being spread through online communities and social media due to suspicions that the actor is Lee Moo Saeng. We are clearly announcing that actor Lee Moo Saeng has no relation whatsoever to the case in question, and if groundless falsehoods continue to be spread, we will respond with strong legal action. Our agency will continue to do our utmost to protect our actors in the future as well."

On September 10, Korean media portals reported that the Seoul Gangnam Police Station had released a statement revealing that they had arrested an actor in his 40s, referred to as "A", for a drug abuse violation. They had received a report that a man was running around seemingly high on drugs. The police made the said person undergo tests including urine drug test which came positive.

It was also reported that this was the actor who made his debut in a supporting role in a 2006 drama and has continued to work as a supporting and leading actor.
