EXCLUSIVE: Munjya passed with ZERO cuts by CBFC; to have paid previews in select cinemas on Thursday, June 6

The movie-watching season began with a bang with Mr & Mrs Mahi, which was released last week and took a great start, aided by the Cinema Lovers Day offer when tickets were sold for just Rs. 99 in most theatres. All eyes are now on this week’s big Hindi release, Munjya. It is a part of the exciting Maddock Supernatural Universe, which also comprises Stree (2018) and Bhediya (2022). As Munjya releases on June 7, Bollywood Hungama brings you two exciting and exclusive news.

The Censor process of Munjya was completed on Tuesday, June 4. The Central Board of Film Certificate (CBFC) has awarded the film with a U/A certificate. Interestingly, the CBFC’s Examining Committee has not asked for a single cut, whether audio or visual. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 123 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 3 minutes.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that Munjya will have paid previews on Thursday, June 6. Hence, moviegoers can get a chance to catch the horror comedy a day before its full-fledged release. An industry insider remarked, “Usually, paid previews begin on Thursday from 6:00 pm onwards. In the case of this film, the paid preview screenings are held only after 10:30 pm or 11:00 pm, possibly because of its horror feel.”

Munjya stars Sharvari and Abhay Verma in the lead roles. Sharvari’s glamorous avatar in the song ‘Taras’ and during the promotions of the film have been noticed. While Munjya is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, it is backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.

The other major release this week, the Hollywood flick, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, will also have paid previews on June 6. There were reports that it’ll have a full-fledged release on Thursday. However, its shows will commence only after 7:00 pm in most properties.
