Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh recently suffered a serious back injury during a workout session. The incident has left the actress on bed rest as she recuperates from the strain.

Rakul Preet Singh Sustains Injury During 80 Kg Deadlift Without Belt According to a report by IANS, Rakul’s injury occurred while performing an 80 kg deadlift without a supportive belt, leading to a severe muscle spasm. "Rakul has been on bed rest for the last few days, and the situation has been quite scary. It all started on the morning of October 5, when Rakul was doing her workout. She did an 80 kg deadlift without wearing a belt, which resulted in a spasm on her back," the source revealed. Despite the initial injury, Rakul continued her exercise routine, which worsened her condition. Rakul Preet Singh Continues Work Despite Injury In spite of the pain, the actress chose to keep shooting for her upcoming film De De Pyaar De 2, taking muscle relaxants to fulfil her professional commitments. For two consecutive days, Rakul pushed through the pain but eventually sought medical attention after three days of discomfort. "She continued to shoot for De De Pyaar De 2, taking a muscle relaxant in order to fulfil her commitment," the source shared. After consulting with physiotherapists, the pain would subside temporarily but return within a few hours.

The situation took a turn for the worse on October 10, just an hour before her birthday celebration. "On October 10, an hour before her birthday party, she went through the worst situation. Her L4, L5, and S1 nerves got jammed. Soon after, her blood pressure dropped, and she broke into a sweat. She had to be put on bed rest immediately," the source added.

Rakul is currently recovering from the injury, but her recovery process is gradual. “It's been five days now, and while she is recovering, it is slow and steady. Rakul is someone who always pushes her body, and instead of resting, she continues shooting, which results in this drastic situation. But this is a lesson learned, and hopefully, she will recover soon," the source concluded.

Jaya Bachchan to star in Vikas Bahl’s comedy Darwaza

The unrivalled Jaya Bhaduri/Bachchan is all set to face the camera once again. The actress was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani where she played a negative character for the first time. She will be joined by Siddhant Chaturvedi and Wamiqa Gabbi in supporting roles.

Now it is another first for the trendsetting Bachchan: Jaya will attempt for the first time in Vikas Bahl’s Darwaza. The film that starts shooting at the end of the month features an ensemble cast.

“But Jaya Bachchan leads the cast in Darwaza. It is a wacky comedy revolving around her character. There are other interesting characters. But she leads the plot,” informs a source close to the project.

Apparently, Jaya was not sure if she could pull off the comic strain. But the director was confident. Interestingly Vikas has directed Amitabh Bachchan in two recent films Goodbye and Ganpath.

EXCLUSIVE: Wamiqa Gabbi, Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer to be shot in Europe in October

Last week, news of Wamiqa Gabbi and Siddhant Chaturvedi, who did a music video together, are expected to explore their chemistry even further by collaborating for a film, which is expected to be a light-hearted family entertainer. The movie is directed by Vikas Bahl along with Jaya Bachchan too playing a key role. Now, the latest update on that front is that the film will be shot in Europe.

While there were rumours that the untitled entertainer is set against the backdrop of Goa, sources close to the film have confirmed that it will be shot against the picturesque backdrop of a European country. The source went on to add, “Wamiqa Gabbi has already left for the shoot along with the rest of the team and Vikas Bahl. The movie will be going on floors on Wednesday, October 16”. If these sources are to be believed, Siddhant Chaturvedi too will be soon taking off to the continent to complete a major portion of the film. However, it is unclear whether Jaya Bachchan will be flying off or whether her scenes will be shot within this country itself.

Speaking about the film, earlier reports suggested that the film will be a romantic drama with Jaya essaying the role of Wamiqa. This marks Vikas Bahl’s first association with Mrs. Bachchan and the latter’s second project in the last five years after the highly successful Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Coming to the professional commitments of the actors, Wamiqa is juggling between multiple projects including the upcoming release of Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh starrer Baby John in December. On the other hand, Siddhant Chaturvedi too is expected to have a packed schedule with Dhadak 2 starring Triptii Dimri and with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Tum Hi Ho with Mrunal Thakur in the pipeline.

Kartik Aaryan reflects on the underwhelming performance of Shehzada; says, “We were facing a crisis from before its release”

Following the success of the Allu Arjun starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, the film was remade in Hindi as Shehzada starring Kartik Aaryan. Considering the star cast and the love for the Telugu entertainer, a lot was expected from it, but it seems that this film failed to meet expectations. Referring to the same, Kartik recently told Pinkvilla, “For Shehzada, which didn’t work, we were facing a crisis from before its release.”

The actor went on to speak about how his name was added to the list of producers of the film and shared, “They were gracious enough to give me producer credits. I didn’t want to take it, but I invested in a few things during the making, so they gave me producer credits. I just wanted to save my film, selfishly. I try to safeguard my movies in all ways possible,” he asserted.

In the same interaction, Kartik also candidly addressed the game of remuneration and how it works within the frame of Indian film industry. “Everything has a calculation. It’s a business module. If things are sitting in the calculation, then it’s correct,” he mentioned. The actor also further explained how some don’t understand how the entire calculation is put together. “Since people are not doing these calculations, these debates are happening. The calculations are going off, and thus most people are not happy and, in fact, angry,” he stated. “I hope my producers stay happy and I don’t make them angry in any way. I think my calculator works well,” he jokingly added.

While Kartik also jokingly confessed that he too has signed films for monetary gain without divulging any name, he has now become one of the most loved actors in the country. No more Nandu! End of an era as CBFC discontinues Akshay Kumar’s anti-smoking ad after more than 6 years

In 2012, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting mandated that films depicting smoking scenes need to play anti-smoking ads before the beginning of the film and after the intermission point. The first ad that came into play involved a man named Mukesh Harane who died at a young age due to cancer caused by tobacco consumption. The ads changed at regular intervals and in 2018, the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) instructed that an ad, featuring Akshay Kumar and Ajay Singh Pal, be shown in films with smoking scenes. This ad proved to be an exception as unlike other previous ads, this ad wasn’t taken down after a certain point in time. Sadly, after six years, the much popular ad has been replaced.

Bollywood Hungama has learned that last month, a decision was taken to discontinue Akshay Kumar’s anti-smoking ad by CBFC. It was replaced by a new ad, showing how quitting tobacco can lead to positive changes in your body within 20 minutes. The recently released films like Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video had scenes of smoking and they were released without the Akshay Kumar ad.

The ad featuring Akshay Kumar was first shown during the release of his 2018 Independence Day film, Gold. It shows Akshay Kumar telling a man named Nandu to stop smoking and use the money saved to buy a sanitary pad for his wife. The ad also helped promote his earlier 2018 film Pad Man. Interestingly, this ad was only mandatory for Hindi films by CBFC.

Nandu in this ad was played by an actor named Ajay Singh Pal. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama in March 2020, he revealed that people used to recognize him on the streets thanks to the ad. He said, “Out of 100, 20-25 people on average realize that I am Nandu. Most people however feel that Nandu must be a big star staying in Mumbai and that he can’t be seen in Bhopal! A few remark that I look like that guy from the anti-smoking ad! Haan, bacche bade sharp hote hai; bacche pehchaan lete hai mujhe!”

An official at a multiplex told Bollywood Hungama on the condition of anonymity, “It was my favourite anti-smoking ad as it gave out an important message without any disturbing visuals. It also used to be amusing to see moviegoers repeating the dialogues from the ad. After all, they were watching the ad for 6 years. The moviegoers had memorized all its lines! I am sure I am and many other moviegoers will surely miss the ad.”

Its revenues soared to Rs. 1,044 crores, driven by Rs. 656 crores from distribution rights, Rs. 140 crores from digital rights, Rs. 83 crores from satellite rights, and Rs. 75 crores from music rights. This strong performance led to a notable after-tax profit of Rs. 27.1 crores. Borrowings during this period amounted to Rs. 82 crores, slightly down from Rs. 92 crores in FY22.

However, in FY 2023-24, the company’s net profit dipped again to Rs. 10.70 crores, signaling ongoing volatility in its financial performance. With the company stabilizing revenue streams through the sale of digital, satellite, and music rights, a potential partnership with Reliance Industries Limited could be a strategic move to further capitalize on growth opportunities.

Reliance Industries Limited’s interest in acquiring a stake in Dharma Productions highlights the increasing value placed on content-driven businesses. Baba Siddique Shot Dead: Lawrence Bishnoi's gang claims responsibility for Baba Siddique's murder; security tightened outside Salman Khan's residence following the viral threat post

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was shot and killed on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Lawrence Bishnoi's gang has since claimed responsibility for the murder. A viral Facebook post by a gang member indicated that the killing was linked to Siddique’s associations with Bollywood actor Salman Khan and underworld figures Dawood Ibrahim and Anuj Thapan. The post mentioned, “Salman Khan hum ye jung nahi chahate they, parantu tumne humare bhai ka nuksan karaya hai.”

The post read, “Om Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat. I understand the essence of life; I consider the body and wealth as mere dust. The only good deed was fulfilling my duty of friendship. Salman Khan, we did not want this war, but you harmed our brother... Today, Baba Siddique's so-called decency is silent, though at one time he was linked to Dawood under the MCOCA Act. His death is tied to his connections between Anuj Thapan, Dawood, Bollywood, politics, and property dealings.”

“We have no enmity with anyone, but whoever assists Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should keep their accounts straight. If any of our brothers are harmed, we will respond. We have never attacked first... Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat,”  the post read in Hindi.

Earlier, two arrested shooters claimed to have connections with the notorious gang involved. According to reports, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde confirmed the arrest of two suspects in relation to the shooting. One suspect hails from Uttar Pradesh, and the other from Haryana, while a third attacker remains at large.

ANI reported that Baba Siddique was attacked near the office of his MLA son, Zeeshan Siddique, in Bandra, Mumbai. He was in critical condition when rushed to the hospital, with sources stating that two to three shots were fired at him around 9:30 pm.

At least six bullets were fired near Zeeshan Siddique's office, with four hitting Baba Siddique in the chest. Authorities believe the attack could be a contract killing and have formed four special teams to lead the investigation into the case.

Salman visited Lilavati Hospital late on Saturday night to offer his condolences and meet the family of Siddique, who passed away from bullet injuries.

Security has been heightened outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence, Galaxy Apartment, following the assassination of former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique on Saturday evening. Footage revealed security personnel stationed outside the actor's home.

The two suspects have been identified as Gurmail Singh from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh.

On Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared that Baba Siddique would be given a state funeral with full honors.

Riteish Deshmukh took to the social media platform to express his condolences and also demanded justice for Siddique’s family. Readers would be aware that Riteish’s late father and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vilasrao Deshmukh has shared a great bond with the late Siddiqui. Priya Dutt, daughter of late iconic actor Sunil Dutt, who is also a politician, too penned a long note expressing her grief as she said, “Today, I'm shaken to the  by the news of  Baba Siddique's tragic death, it has shocked me . Baba was more than a political associate; he was family. To my father, Baba Siddique was like a son, and to me, he was a brother and a dear friend. Throughout my father's political journey and beyond, he stood steadfast, by his side. When I entered politics, he guided me through its ups and downs, offering his unwavering support. His loss feels like the departure of a family member. My heart bleeds for Bhabhi, Zeeshan, and Arshia. May God grant them the resilience to bear this immense sorrow. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Farewell, dear brother.”

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video director Raaj Shaandilyaa apologizes for ‘unauthorized’ use of content from Stree 2 after being heavily trolled

The recently released Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video, despite its 90s ‘clean’ comedy entertainment, came under the scanner for a completely different reason. The film faced backlash after picking up content from the highly successful horror comedy Stree 2 which also featured Rao along with Shraddha Kapoor. Now, after trolls started heavily targeting the comedy set in the 90s, filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa have taken to social media to issue a statement of apology.

On October 12, Saturday, Raaj Shaandilyaa along with the entire team of producers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video took to the social media platform X to share a note where they have apologized for ‘unauthorized’ use of content from Stree 2. “I Raaj Shaandilyaa the director of the film “Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video” on behalf of myself and on behalf of Super Cassettes Ind. Pvt. Ltd., Balaji Motion Pictures and Wakaoo Films, the producers of the film, extend our sincere and unconditional apology for the unauthorized use of character and dialogue from Maddock Films’ franchise “Stree” in our film. We deeply regret any harm caused to Maddock Films and their franchise as a result of this infringement,” his statement read.

Meanwhile, Maddock Films have expressed their gratitude towards the makers for the apology note along with the assurance that this wouldn’t be repeated. Sharvari set to make her debut as a showstopper for Pankaj and Nidhi at Lakme Fashion Week

Sharvari has had quite the year in 2024 after receiving after the stupendous success of Munjya. After 6 years of Tumbbad, Sohum Shah announces his next titled CRAZXY

The re-release of Sohum Shah's Tumbbad has left everyone astonished with its phenomenal success at the box office. Anil Sharma announces his next film Vanvaas on Dussehra, after of Gadar success

Zee Studios and Anil Sharma have produced films such as Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Gadar 2, and now they are set to release a new film titled Vanvaas. Director Anil Sharma announced this project following the success of Gadar 2. The announcement was made on Dussehra, providing a glimpse into the story that explores themes of duty, honor, and the consequences of one’s actions.

Taking to social media, the makers shared an announcement video, offering a first glimpse of  ‘Apne Hi Apno Ko Dete Hai: Vanvaas,’ capturing the film's fervor with enthralling visuals and a mind-blowing BGM. The video also captured the Ram Ram song that further takes us in it's divine world and is sure sure to rule the hearts of the audience with it's release. They further added the caption, “Kahani zindagi ki..... Kahani jazbaat ki. Kahani apno ke vishwaas ki! Pure parivaar ke sang dekhiye parivaar ki film, #Vanvaas, coming soon in theatres near you. While speaking about Vanvaas director Anil Sharma said, “Ramayana and Vanvaas is a different take on the same where kids make their parents take exile. Kalyug Ka Ramayana jaha Apne hi Dete Hai Apno ko Vanvaas.”

REVEALED: Ajay Singh Pal aka Nandu of Akshay Kumar’s popular anti-smoking ad CONFESSES that he smokes in real life occasionally over drinks

He’s an actor who appears the maximum time on screen throughout the year. We are talking about Ajay Singh Pal, who plays Nandu, in the famous anti-smoking ad that also features Akshay Kumar. He made some interesting remarks when he interacted recently with Mayank Shekhar of Mid-Day.

Ajay Singh Pal revealed that women recognize him instantly more than men. The reason why the latter doesn't recognize him easily, he said that's because "men are always stuck in zindagi ke kashmakash". He further said that people also get confused seeing him and they wonder if he's Nandu. And if indeed he is, why is he in Bhopal.

In the same interview, he was asked whether he smokes in real life. Interestingly, he replied that he does. He said, "(I smoke) Very, very occasionally, with close friends, over jaam. I will never do it in public." The other interesting bit revealed by Ajay is that he hates shooting reels and being made to repeat his lines from the iconic ad.

In 2020, Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to Ajay Singh Pal and the interview travelled far and wide. In this interview, he revealed that he had played a small role in Pad Man (2018), which helped him bag the ad. At that time, he had said, “Out of 100, 20-25 people on average realize that I am Nandu. Most people however feel that Nandu must be a big star staying in Mumbai and that he can’t be seen in Bhopal! A few remark that I look like that guy from the anti-smoking ad! Haan, bacche bade sharp hote hai; bacche pehchaan lete hai mujhe!”

He also stated that he had worked in films like PEEPLI [Live] (2010), Durgamati (2020) and in shows like ‘Shaheen’, ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’, ‘CID’, ‘Saavdhan India’, ‘Crime Patrol’, ‘Jyoti’ etc.

Ajay Singh Pal also said in the Bollywood Hungama interview, “Shruti Mahajan, the casting director of Pad Man, had come to Bhopal…to hire local actors for the film, so that they can avoid getting actors from Mumbai. I was told that I would be required for around 10 days. For 8 days, they cast me as an extra in crowd scenes. Then on the 9th day, they gave me two scenes with Akshay Kumar. Initially, they didn’t trust my acting abilities and hence, mera close (shot) banaya nahi un logon ne!Sirf Akshay ka close banaya. Later, they realized that I could do it. That’s when they gave me a close in the next shot. They were so happy that they took my close of the earlier shot as well! Suddenly, their attitude towards me changed and they began to address me as ‘Sir’! 15 days later, they called to say that they wanted me to shoot an ad with Akshay Kumar as well. I agreed and that’s how I became a part of this advertisement.”

70th National Film Awards: Mithun Chakraborty honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, recalls his journey: “I was told ‘film industry meing kaala rang nahin chalega’”

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, on Tuesday, was presented with the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the film industry. This prestigious accolade, regarded as the highest honour in Indian cinema, was bestowed upon him by President Droupadi Murmu during the 70th National Film Awards ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan.

Mithun Chakraborty shared a heartfelt reflection on his journey in the entertainment sector. The veteran star, who has also received the Padma Bhushan for his significant impact on the arts, opened up about the challenges he faced, particularly regarding the prejudice he experienced as a person with darker skin. Recalling those difficult moments, he stated, “I was told 'film industry meing kaala rang nahin chalega'. Jitna apmaan ho sakta tha, hua [I was told there's no place for dark-skinned actors like me in the film industry. They humiliated me as much as they could],” he said.

Despite the negativity, Mithun found strength in his passion for dance, which eventually became his means of self-expression. He reminisced, “I decided to dance then. I wanted people to look at my feet, not at my face or my skin colour. Sab filmon me pairon se dance kiya, aur log mere rang ko bhool gaye.”

He encouraged aspiring talents in the industry, sharing his belief that determination can lead to success. "If I can do it, anybody can do it," he stated.

Chakraborty reflected on his earlier accomplishments and how they impacted his mindset. He admitted that success led him to a certain arrogance, drawing a parallel to the legendary actor Al Pacino. However, he quickly recognized that such an attitude could hinder his opportunities. This realization fuelled his desire to remain humble and grounded in his craft.

In a moment of inspiration, he concluded his speech with a mantra he often shares: “Khud so jana lekin apne sapno ko mat sone dena.”

The 70th National Film Awards ceremony, honoring excellence in Indian cinema for the previous year, was a significant event, graced by the presence of the President. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award, established in 1969 to honor the pioneering filmmaker Dadasaheb Phalke, has recognized numerous illustrious personalities throughout its history, including luminaries like Raj Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, and Yash Chopra. Chakraborty is now the 54th recipient of this honor, following actress Waheeda Rehman, who was honored in 2021.

SCOOP: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 trailer to be out on October 9

Bollywood Hungama was one of the first ones to inform fans that the teaser of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 would be unveiled on September 27. And now, we bring you an update on when the much-awaited trailer of the horror comedy will be out. As per the latest update, the theatrical trailer will be released in a few days from now.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Initially, the plan was to bring the trailer on Sunday, October 6. But now, the makers have decided to launch the promo on October 9. It will have the ingredients to excite the audience – horror, comedy, drama, romance and grandeur. It’s a well-mounted film, fit for a theatrical viewing and that will be reflected in the trailer.”

There are also murmurs that the theatrical trailer will be launched in a grand fashion in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan but there’s no clarity on this aspect as yet. Reports, meanwhile, also state that the trailer of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is more than 3 minutes long.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 brings back Kartik Aaryan and director Anees Bazmee after the very successful Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022). Vidya Balan rocked the show in Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and her comeback to the successful series has enhanced the excitement for the third part. The addition of Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri to the star cast has also made people pumped up for the horror comedy.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series and Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios. It will be released in cinemas on Friday, November 1, that is on the day of Diwali.

Meanwhile, the promotional campaign will hit top gear after the trailer is out. The source said, “The team of the film has already shot for popular TV shows and soon, they’ll unveil the songs.”

Govinda discharged from hospital after bullet injury, leaves on wheelchair: “Aisa laga ki yeh kya ho gaya”

Actor Govinda found himself hospitalized after sustaining a gunshot injury early Tuesday morning. On October 4, the actor was discharged and was recently spotted leaving the medical facility, much to the relief of his fans. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, provided an update on his condition, addressing reporters gathered outside the hospital in Juhu, Mumbai.

Speaking to the media, Sunita expressed gratitude for the support and well-wishes from fans, stating, “With everyone's blessings, he has completely recovered. He has a lot of fans everywhere. We are praying for him everywhere, in the temple, in the dargah. With everyone's blessings, he is completely fine. I would like to say to the fans, don't panic. He is completely fine. After a few months, he will start dancing again. Thank you so much.”

The unfortunate accident reportedly occurred while Govinda was tidying up his closet. While cleaning, he accidentally discharged his firearm, which led to the injury to his foot. According to various reports, a malfunction in the gun’s mechanism caused the bullet to fire unexpectedly. At the time of the incident, the weapon was loaded with six rounds, one of which struck him. Sunita was in Kolkata during the mishap, but once she was informed, she rushed back to be by his side.

The actor was ultimately able to leave the hospital, albeit in a wheelchair, where he greeted members of the media and provided insights into the distressing situation. Describing the moment of the accident, Govinda shared, “Aisa laga ki yeh kya ho gaya (I was like what has just happened).”

His shock was evident as he recounted the incident. When asked if he was alone at that time, he explained, “Haan…main nikal raha tha show ke liye. Kolkata ke liye aur yahi koi 5 -4:45 baje aur uss time toh woh girr hi gaya aur chal hi padi aur mujhe aisa laga ke jhatka to laga ke kya hua (Yes, I was preparing to leave for a show in Kolkata, and at around 4:45 or 5 a.m., it just fell and misfired. I was shocked about what has just happened).”

The actor elaborated on his response to the alarming situation, saying, "Maine dekha toh favara nikal raha tha bada. Phir maine socha ke stithi ko kisi aur tarike se joda nahin jaaye isliye qaid kar ke rakh liya jaaye. Maine videos taiyaar kar liye aur doctor sahab Aggarwal ji ke yahan chala gaya (When I saw there was a lot of blood coming out, I thought it was better to document the moment so that it would not be misinterpreted. I recorded the videos and reached out to Dr. Aggarwal).

As the news of his injury spread, fans expressed their concerns and well-wishes on social media, showing an outpouring of love for the actor. The support from his audience and the film community highlights the deep connection he has established over the years through his work.
