Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter wage war against Pakistan after Pulwama terror attack; threaten to create 'India Occupied Pakistan' in the trailer

The highly anticipated trailer for an aerial action film, Fighter, arrived on January 15, 2024. Directed by the Pathaan and War director Siddharth Anand and presented by Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Marflix Pictures, Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor promises a fusion of heart-racing action sequences and a patriotic undertone. The trailer showcases a perfect blend of adrenaline and national pride, ensuring an immersive experience that transcends the ordinary. However, it also narrates important moments in Indian history – the 26th November 2008 terror attack in Mumbai and the tragic 2019 Pulwama attack which unfolded on February 14.

The trailer talks about the “deadliest terror attack on Indian forces. The attack claimed the lives of 40 army officers.” This directly talks about the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir. The trailer sees Hrithik Roshan’s character Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania aka Patty leading the Air Force team to POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir). In another glimpse, Akshay Oberoi’s Weapon System Operator Basheer Khan ends up in Pakistan’s camp and is being brutally tortured. It seems like replicating a fighter jet pilot Abhinandan Varthaman’s case who ended up in Pakistan’s territory during the airstrike.

From the songs, one has seen Karan Singh Grover and Sanjeeda Sheikh paired up. However, the trailer sees her at the crematory in the white outfit as she is inconsolable and hugs Patty. It seems like Karan’s character Squadron Leader Sartaj Gill presumably dies in the movie. From the looks of it, the fictional scenario will see Patty, Minni lead the Air Force team to save Basheer Khan.

Towards the end, Hrithik’s Patty fights the terrorist as he says, “POK ka matlab hai Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Tumne occupy kiya hai. Maalik hum hain. Tujh jaise terrorist ke wajah se hum badtameezi pe utar aaye, toh tumhara har mohallah IOP ban jayega,” as he adds, “India Occupied Pakistan” and he brutally punches the terrorist.

For unversed, reports had earlier revealed that the Pulwama terror attack on February 14, 2019, orchestrated by a militant, claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir. Following a terror attack, India retaliated with a surgical airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan. While India asserted it targeted a terrorist camp, Pakistan disputed the extent of damage and casualties.

In the aftermath of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Pakistan conducted airstrikes, prompting a response from India. During that scenario, an Indian pilot, flying a MiG-21, successfully downed a Pakistani F-16 but faced a crash, leading to his capture in Pakistani territory. Simultaneously, another Indian Air Force aircraft met with an unfortunate fate near Budgam, Srinagar. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by the Pakistani Army and underwent interrogation. However, in a diplomatic move, he was returned to India within a week. Abhinandan was later honoured with the Kirti Chakra, the third-highest gallantry award in India.

Fighter will be available in theatres in 3D and 3D IMAX formats and is scheduled to hit theatres on the eve of India’s 75th Republic Day, January 25th, 2024.

Amitabh Bachchan purchases land worth Rs. 14.5 crores in Ayodhya, reveals report

Readers would be aware that a grand consecration ceremony is expected to take place in Ayodhya on January 22, which will be held in the famous Ram Temple. The spiritual city, located amidst picturesque lakes, in Uttar Pradesh, is expected to become a hotspot for development and it seems that one of the first celebrities to have invested there is megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The actor is expected to have purchased land under The Sarayu project which is kick started by the House of Abhindan Lodha.

Although details have not been revealed officially, reports revealed that the land purchased is about 10,000 sq.ft. which is worth the vale of approximately Rs. 14.5 crores. Speaking of the location and the development project Sarayu, it is 25-acre development that overlooks the Sarayu River and is expected to be only 15 minutes away from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and about half hour away from the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport, which is currently being built in the city. The upcoming seven star project is expected to be unveiled on the same day as the consecration ceremony.

Confirming about his association with Abhindan Lodha, Mr. Bachchan opened up about the investment in the said report wherein he told Hindustan Times, “I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. Fighter: Siddharth Anand crafts 7-day ambitious shoot built over 5-acre land for Hrithik Roshan's airstrike sequence

The much-awaited trailer of the aerial action drama Fighter is set to arrive in a few hours. The trailer of Siddharth Anand's directorial is eagerly looked up to by the masses. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, the film promises action patriotic fervour, and a cinematic experience. For the film, Anand had erected a huge set in Mumbai to shoot a mega-action sequence.

For one of the most crucial sequences in the movie, Siddharth Anand dedicated seven intense days with Hrithik Roshan to capture a pivotal scene in the film, drawing inspiration from a real Indian Air Force airstrike. The director meticulously recreated the drama at Mumbai's SRPF Grounds, skillfully designed by art director Rajat Poddarr. The intricate aerial choreography, a result of collaboration between action directors Oh Se Yeong and Parvez Shaikh, brought authenticity to Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania's leadership in the airstrike.

According to Mid-day, a source revealed, “Since their starting point was a real-life air strike, the art department took references from pictures of the real location, and then made creative changes. They had to depict the air strike taking place over a snow-clad town that houses the enemy facility. So, they built the set of a town over five acres of land at the SRPF ground, and for the close-up shots, used a particular chemical, which when mixed with water, gives the impression of snow. For the wide-angle shots, the production design team used salt to depict snow.”

The source added, “The entire set took a month to build, after which Siddharth and the actor filmed the scene in April 2023. The sequence sees Hrithik’s character lead the mission as his team and he fly Mirage 2000s over the terrorist camp and demolish it.”

Despite hand injury, Amitabh Bachchan shoots for ISPL promotional video with Akshay Kumar and Suriya

It has been quite a while since the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan suffered a hand injury. The bandage on his right hand was visible in the last several episodes of his game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), whose final season recently concluded. Now, Bachchan was also seen shooting with Akshay Kumar and Suriya with his right hand bandaged.

The three stars came together to shoot a promotional video for the upcoming cricket tournament Indian Street Premiere League (ISPL). Bachchan revealed the same on his latest blog post. He said, “The ISPL, as has been promoted and delivered in adverts is well on its way to fructification and all the owners and the members that are involved, were needed to be in immortalised picture frames .. so yes, a photo cum meet shoot .. a very quick in and out between the evening hours .. with our friends and colleagues .. such a joy ..”

Adding about his hand injury, Big B said while adding a picture with Akshay Kumar, “Akshay one of the owners .. and an explanation to him about the surgery on my hand ..”

 

Bachchan also shared words of praise for Suriya. He said, “Hrithik had done his shoot and had just left, to another engagement and we here were getting ready for ours, with yet another favourite, from the South - Suriya .. aah such a delight to have met him again .. and my extreme pleasure of sharing with him how greatly I admired that film song of his, on the film about Father and Son ..”

Interestingly, Akshay Kumar is starring in the Hindi remake of Suriya’s hit and acclaimed Tamil film Soorarai Pottru.

Surbhi Chandna takes to Instagram to SLAM Vistara Airlines over misplaced luggage: “Mentally tortured me”

Leading Indian television actress Surbhi Chandna recently had an unpleasant travel experience with Vistara Airlines, and she's not holding back her frustration. Chandna took to Instagram to share her ordeal with her followers, accusing the airline of misplacing her luggage, providing false promises, and causing her "mental torture."

Chandna's ordeal began when one of the bags in her priority luggage was offloaded mid-flight and didn't make it to Mumbai with her. Upon arrival, she attempted to contact Vistara staff for information but allegedly received no concrete answers.

In a strongly worded Instagram post, Chandna wrote, "The WORST AIRLINE award goes to @airvistara. A priority bag was offloaded for reasons best known to them. They have wasted the entire day and I still have not been assured if the bag has reached the Mumbai airport or no. False promises by the incompetent staff horrible delays by airline."

She further expressed her disappointment with the airline's handling of the situation, stating, "They are not sure if they can even arrange a vendor to send the bag in case they locate it all this after they have mentally tortured me. False promises by the incompetent staff has caused mental harassment. Horrible delays by the airline. I suggest you'll to think a 100 times before you fly this pathetic airline."

Chandna went on to name a specific staff member who she felt was "extremely rude in her approach" and exhibited "unprofessional and unapologetic" behavior. This incident, according to Chandna, is emblematic of the "pathetic staff service" experienced when the airline is at fault.

Saif Ali Khan signs Maari director Balaji Mohan’s next Click Shankar for Junglee Pictures: Report

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is on a signing spree. The actor has two projects in his line-up and reportedly has signed another project. Saif will join forces with Tamil filmmaker Balaji Mohan, known for Dhanush starrer Maari. The project will be bankrolled by Junglee Pictures.

As per a report in Peeping Moon, a source revealed, “Click Shankar is a brilliantly written, character-driven subject with a perfect blend of suspense, humour, and emotions. Saif perfectly fits the role and will add an essence of intrigue to the narrative with his sharp charisma and confidence. It’s a role unlike any Saif has played before, and there is no way he could have passed up the opportunity to be a part of this incredibly creative and ambitious project. Saif will begin shooting for this film in May.”

The report states that Click Shankar will follow the story of Shankar Rebeiro who embodies the complex duality of a witty yet troubled inspector grappling with hyperthymesia. This rare condition, a double-edged sword, ensures every moment is etched in his mind. The film becomes a cerebral journey as Shankar navigates a mystery that tests not only his deductive prowess but also confronts the haunting permanence of his past.

Radhika Apte gets trapped in aerobridge with passengers; takes a sarcastic dig at airlines: “Thanks for the fun ride”

Actress Radhika Apte had a travel experience no one would envy. She and her fellow passengers found themselves locked inside an airport aerobridge with no access to basic amenities like restrooms or water. Radhika took to Instagram to share her ordeal, highlighting the frustration and inconvenience faced by the passengers.

The Sacred Games actress’ flight, scheduled for an 8:30 AM departure, was already delayed. However, the airline's solution to the delay was bizarre - they herded all passengers into the aerobridge and locked them in! This meant the flight was delayed, and passengers, including those with small children and elderly individuals, were stuck in a confined space with no way out.

Radhika's Instagram post captures the passengers' plight. A video clip shows people crowded behind a locked glass door, some even pleading with the security personnel. Photos depict passengers, including the actress and her team, sitting on the floor amidst the chaos.

In her post, the Badlapur actress expresses her frustration, writing, “Apparently, their crew hasn’t boarded. The crew had the change and they are still waiting for new crew but they have no idea of when they will arrive so no one knows how long they’ll be locked inside.” She further describes her attempt to get information from the airline staff, who she found unhelpful and dismissive.

The ordeal wasn't over soon. According to Radhika, the airline informed passengers that they would be locked in until at least 12 PM, with no access to basic necessities like water or restrooms. Radhika ends her post sarcastically, thanking the airline for the "fun ride." Her post resonated with many, quickly going viral on social media. People expressed their outrage at the airline's negligence and lack of communication.

Ustad Rashid Khan laid to rest in his hometown in Uttar Pradesh with state honours

Late classical singer Ustad Rashid Khan, who passed away on January 9, 2024, at age 55, was laid to rest in his hometown in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh. He was buried in Chote Sarkar graveyard, Badaun and his last rites were conducted with state honours. The late singer breathed his last in Kolkata. People around the world, who knew his music, have been paying tribute to the legendary singer.

Ustad Rashid Khan gained widespread recognition for his exceptional vocal abilities. He belonged to the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana, known for the Hindustani classical music. He learned music from a very young age as he began his training under his maternal grandfather, Ustad Ghulam Qadir Khan, and his father, Ustad Sharafat Hussain Khan. He also received training from his uncle Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan.

Known for his immense abilities in khayal and thumri genres of Hindustani classical music, his performances would move the audiences to feel several emotions. While he was known for his classical music, he had crooned several Bollywood songs including ‘Aaoge Jab Tum’ in Kareena Kapoor Khan – Shahid Kapoor starrer Jab We Met, and ‘Allah Hi Reham’ in the Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol-starrer My Name is Khan.

Riteish Deshmukh set to play an antagonist in Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor starrer Raid 2

Following the casting news of Vaani Kapoor as the new leading lady in Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2, another update has been revealed. Actor Riteish Deshmukh is set to join forces with Devgn. He will essay the role of the antagonist in the upcoming sequel. IRS officer Amay Patnaik has identified his new target! Directed by Rajkumar Gupta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, Raid 2 will feature Riteish Deshmukh in the negative lead role.

Known for delivering exceptional performances as a negative lead, Riteish Deshmukh will face off against Ajay Devgn on the silver screen for the first time, following their collaboration in hilarious comedy films. The film started shooting in Mumbai last week and will be extensively filmed in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. Gulshan Kumar and T-Series present the film and it is a Panorama Studios production. Emraan Hashmi to play antagonist in Ranveer Singh – Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3?

The makers of Don 3 are busy with the casting of the film’s new characters which will be headlined by Ranveer Singh in the iconic role. Last year, the actor took on the role in Farhan Akhtar’s directorial after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have played the same role in different eras, respectively. In an exciting piece of news, Emraan Hashmi might play the role of antagonist in the movie.

It all began after Emraan Hashmi was spotted at Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment office. The actor arrived in his new premium car as the paparazzi teased him about his potential casting. He only greeted the paparazzi before heading inside the office.

In a statement in August 2023, Farhan Akhtar said, “In 1978, a character created by Salim-Javed and portrayed by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan with effortless elan, captured the imagination of theatregoers across the country. That enigmatic character was Don. In 2006, Don was reimagined and brought to life by Shah Rukh Khan in his own irresistibly charming way. From Don's sardonic wit to his cool but menacing fury, Shah Rukh embodied his persona. As writer & director, I had a great time creating not one but two, Don films with Shah Rukh and both experiences remain very close to my heart.”

Farhan Akhtar further said that he is ready to take the legacy forward with an actor whose talent and versatility he admires. Farhan said, “The time has now come to take the legacy of Don forward and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have long admired. We hope that you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. A new era of Don begins in 2025.”

Speaking to Deadline in December 2023, Ranveer Singh said, “I’m hoping to make Don my own and give it my spin, my interpretation. It is the handing over of the baton of one of the most loved and revered franchises of Hindi cinema. The significance of that is not lost on me. When the announcement was made, as expected, it came with its share of skepticism. But throughout the history of cinema, this has happened. Even as recently as perhaps when the Bond franchise changed hands and they announced Daniel Craig as the new Bond, it came with its fair share of scepticism. So, this is only natural.”

The 1978 version of Don was headlined by Amitabh Bachchan in a dual role as Don and Vijay. The film was written by Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar and helmed by Chandra Barot. Farhan Akhtar then directed by Don in 2007 with Shah Rukh Khan in the double role and a sequel in 2011. Talking about the third installment, Ranveer said “Taking the baton forward in this franchise and continuing the legacy of two of our greatest superstars – the significance of that is not lost on me. So, I will give it my best shot and you will see the very best of me and I will put my best foot forward for Don undoubtedly.”

Ranbir Kapoor to kick off Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana in March 2024: Report

After the massive success of Animal, Ranbir Kapoor is set to embark on his next venture, collaborating with director Nitesh Tiwari for the epic Ramayana, alongside Sai Pallavi. The actor is slated to commence filming in Mumbai on March 2, with an additional schedule planned for April and May 2024. The anticipation surrounding this cinematic spectacle is heightened.

According to a report in Mid-Day, a source revealed, “The cast and crew were recently informed that March 2 is the big day. Nitesh sir has charted out a long schedule in Film City. In the first part of the leg, Ranbir and Sai will shoot the dialogue-heavy scenes. The major crowd sequences, including some war portions, will be shot in April and May. The idea is to wrap these scenes before the monsoons hit the city.”

Director Nitesh Tiwari and VFX powerhouse DNEG have collaborated extensively, investing months in crafting the mythological universe for their upcoming epic. The pre-production phase involved intricate look tests and 3D mapping sessions with the cast. Ranbir Kapoor will fly to Los Angeles in February for crucial technical rehearsals at the DNEG office. The source added, “In the first few weeks of the shoot, the makers will also be flying down expert technicians from Los Angeles to help them get familiar with the process.”

Shahid Kapoor to woo audiences with his groovy moves in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya

Garnering much love was Laxman Utekar when he brought together Sara Ali Khan as the fun-loving Saumya and Vicky Kaushal as the beloved hubby Kapil in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and exploring yet another fresh pairing is the filmmaker and Maddock Films in their next. Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon will be seen coming together for an ‘impossible love story’ and the title of the film was unveiled just a day ago as Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Adding to the anticipation is yet another announcement which was made on January 11 about Shahid’s killer dance moves.

Starting as a background dancer, Shahid Kapoor has always wooed audiences with his dancing skills and yet again he will be seen flaunting the same in a peppy number in his upcoming sci-fi comedy. The makers Maddock Films have unveiled a look of Shahid Kapoor in an all-black ensemble set against a golden backdrop filled with lights, where he is seen featuring a dance step. The poster has garnered much excitement among fans who can’t wait to see Shahid returning in his dance avatar in the upcoming entertainer. His co-star Kriti Sanon shared her excitement in the caption saying, “Can't wait for @shahidkapoor to be back with his killer moves on the dance floor!”

Many of his fans took to the platform to share their excitement about watching Shahid Kapoor dance on the big screen. One of them reminded that it has been a decade since they have seen the actor groove and added, “After 11 years..he is coming back with his dance movesss..... Gonna be a blockbuster loading”. A fan dropped a comment saying, “I can't express how excited I'm to see Shahid Kapoor dance” whereas another one mentioned, “the wait is over , shahid the DANCER is back” .

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is slated for release during the Valentine’s week, February 9. It is expected to a unique sci-fi romantic drama between a scientist and a robot and it also stars Dharmendra as well as Dimple Kapadia in key roles.

Nora Fatehi BREAKS SILENCE on holding Indian flag upside down at FIFA 2022 in a mini-documentary, watch

It’s been just more than a year since Nora Fatehi made history as the first Bollywood star to perform at the prestigious FIFA World Cup 2022 ceremony. A milestone which was telecasted to more than a billion viewers worldwide. Recalling the same, the actress recently released a mini-documentary, in which she gives viewers an intimate look at the process she endured, to end up on the biggest stage in the world.

The documentary also goes on to shed light on the controversy that was stirred up when fated winds flipped over the Indian flag while she held it, for barely 2 seconds. The actress opens up for the first time reflecting on her thoughts on the incident. She pointed out that it was irresponsible how the media chose to highlight an unintentional incident while overlooking the bigger achievement and thought behind representing the country to a global audience.

A scene in the documentary in which Nora listens to a voicemail sent by a local Indian Qatari fan who attended Fatehi’s performance left the actress feeling emotional. His words “Thank you for making us so proud. Thank you for choosing Bollywood” could be felt by many.

Expressing her concern for the controversy and love for the country, she says, “I’m not Nora Fatehi from Westview Centennial Secondary School anymore, neither am I Nora who goes to Morocco every summer with her family. I am Nora Fatehi and like that’s a new person. And that person was born in India!”. She goes on to say, “I am there (on a global stage) today because of this country and the people!”

After the release, President of FIFA, Infantino Gianni also endorsed support and solidarity for Nora Fatehi’s documentary, congratulating her for all the efforts while underscoring the significance of her presence on a global sports stage. Also, a lot of fans and love from the audience pushed her to focus only on her goal.

It was earlier set to hit the theatres on Good Friday, March 29, 2024. The film will tell heartwarming stories of modern-day couples brought to life by a talented ensemble cast. Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sensharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh will grace the screen.

While announcing the project in December 2022, filmmaker Anurag Basu said, “Metro… In Dino is a tale of the people and for the people! It has been a while since I am working on this one and I am glad to be collaborating with a powerhouse like Bhushan Kumar yet again who has always been like a pillar to me! Confirmed: Thaman S to make solo Bollywood debut in Atlee's VD18 with; makers of Varun Dhawan starrer to unveil a massy teaser soon

Bollywood is about to welcome another musical sensation from the South! Following the success of Anirudh Ravichander in Atlee's Jawan, the filmmaker has now roped in another National Award winner – Thaman S – for his upcoming Bollywood venture, VD18.

If a report by PeepingMoon is something to go by, then the forthcoming action-packed film starring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi will mark Thaman's solo composer debut in Hindi cinema. While he previously collaborated with Rohit Shetty in Golmaal Again and Simmba, VD18 is his big solo entry into the Bollywood music scene. He's reportedly pouring his heart and soul into the album, featuring 4-5 songs and the background score.

The report further stated that the film will officially be announced in the next couple of days. It is said that the announcement will be made with a massy teaser, revealing the title and release date. On the other hand, contrary to rumours, the film won't be called Lion.

For the unversed, VD18 is an exciting adaptation of Atlee's 2016 Tamil blockbuster Theri. While retaining the core story, the film promises a fresh Bollywood twist, with a talented cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav, Sheeba Chaddha, and a special cameo by Sanya Malhotra.

VD18 is currently in production under the direction of Kalees, and is steadily heading towards a March 2024 wrap. Produced by Priya Atlee and Murad Khetani, and presented by Atlee himself, this film promises to be a spectacle not to be missed.
