Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat: Harshvardhan Rane scene goes viral for “shirt-over-dressing” goof-up; doctor roast it on social media

Harshvardhan Rane, currently enjoying box office success with his romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, has unexpectedly become the centre of a social media debate — and this time, it’s not for his performance. A scene from the Milap Zaveri directorial has caught the attention of netizens and even medical professionals, leading to a wave of memes, criticisms and light-hearted trolling.

The moment under scrutiny appears in a sequence where Rane’s character sustains a bullet injury to his arm. While the narrative intends to depict the urgency of medical care, viewers were quick to point out a glaring continuity error: the dressing for the wound is applied over the actor’s shirt instead of on the skin. A doctor, who stumbled upon the clip, shared it on X (formerly Twitter) with a sarcastic caption that read, “Bollywood doctors are soo advanced… Shirt ke upper dressing…”

The post quickly gained traction, and social media users wasted no time turning the clip into meme material. Comments ranged from snarky to outright hilarious, with one user writing, “Maybe they couldn’t afford to tear that shirt,” while another joked, “They don’t use two brain cells.” Some others added to the humour with quips like “Sare COVID me pass out huye hai (they all passed out in COVID),” “Mashoor Gulati is their doctor,” and “Everything is possible in love and Bollywood.” A particularly popular comment read, “Even his shirt got hit by the bullet.”

Despite the trolling, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat continues to draw audiences. The film, described as an intense romantic drama, features Sonam Bajwa alongside Harshvardhan Rane. Directed by Milap Zaveri and written by Zaveri and Mushtaq Shiekh, the project is backed by Desi Movies Factory. Released on 21 October 2025 during the Diwali weekend, it faced competition from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe title Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.

While the blooper has triggered online amusement, it hasn’t dampened the film’s commercial run. For now, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is trending both for its box office performance and for a moment of unintended comedy that the internet refuses to let go.

Aryan Khan to work on his first theatrical release before directing Shah Rukh Khan in planned 2027 film: Report

Aryan Khan, who recently earned appreciation for his debut Netflix directorial The Ba***ds of Bollywood, is already moving ahead with his next set of projects. The series, which featured Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Bobby Deol and an ensemble cast, marked Aryan’s official entry as a director and showcased his inclination towards bold storytelling. With the streaming debut now behind him, the filmmaker is preparing for a larger leap — a theatrical feature.

According to industry sources, Aryan's next directorial will be a full-fledged film intended for a big-screen release. The young filmmaker is reportedly determined to establish himself in the theatrical space before stepping into what will arguably be the most anticipated collaboration of his career — directing his father, superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

A source quoted by Pinkvilla revealed that Aryan is taking a measured, merit-driven approach to his career choices. “Aryan wants to deliver a theatrical success and prove himself as a filmmaker before taking on the challenge of directing his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan,” the insider shared. The intention, the source added, is to build credibility in the industry by letting the work speak for itself rather than relying on legacy or expectations.

Plans for the father-son collaboration are very much in motion, though the film is not expected to take off immediately. “If all goes as planned, Aryan’s third directorial will feature SRK in the lead. The father-son duo has already locked the core idea, but the collaboration is expected to take shape only in 2027,” the source added.

For now, Aryan is dedicating his attention to completing the script for his second feature film. The project is likely to enter the casting stage soon, with more details about the genre, ensemble, and production timeline expected to emerge in the coming months.

With his debut project sparking conversations and his next two films already generating industry buzz, Aryan Khan appears to be pacing his journey with focus and strategic clarity. As anticipation builds for his theatrical debut — and eventually, his directorial collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan — all eyes are on the young filmmaker’s next move.

HAQ: Madhya Pradesh High Court dismisses Shah Bano’s daughter’s petition against release of Emraan Hashmi, Yami Gautam starrer

In a major development ahead of its theatrical release, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has rejected the plea filed by Siddiqua Begum, who claims to be the daughter of Shah Bano, seeking a stay on the release of Haq. The upcoming film, starring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam Dhar, has been at the centre of controversy after Siddiqua challenged the makers for allegedly portraying her mother’s story without the family’s consent.

Siddiqua Begum had approached the court demanding a ban on the film’s release and promotional activities, arguing that Haq draws directly from the life and personal experiences of her late mother, Shah Bano, whose historic 1985 Supreme Court case reshaped Indian legal and social discourse. According to Siddiqua, the film infringes upon the family’s privacy and misuses personal details under the guise of creative liberty.

Justice Pranay Verma at the Indore Bench of the High Court rejected the arguments, holding, “Privacy or reputation earned by a person during his or her lifetime extinguishes with his or her death. It cannot be inherited like a movable or immovable property."

The legal team representing Haq, however, strongly refuted the claims. They clarified that the film is not a biographical retelling but is inspired by the well-known Supreme Court judgment in the case Mohd Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum. The team further stated that the story draws from the published novel ‘Bano, Bharat Ki Beti’ by Jigna Vora, and focuses more on the court proceedings without referencing personal family matters.

The court also accepted the filmmaker’s stance that HAQ is “inspired” by the landmark case. It is fictional and the disclaimer that states the same is also a part of the movie. “Since the disclaimer itself states that the same is dramatization and is fictional and an adaptation of a book and is inspired by a judgment of the Apex Court, it cannot be said that the contents of the film are fabricated. Since the film is an inspiration and a fiction, some amount of leeway is certainly permissible and merely because the same is done, it cannot be said that there has been any sensationalization or false portrayal," the Court said.

In its final verdict, the Court also noted that the film is stated to be largely inspired from publicly available court records. "Once a matter becomes a matter of public record, the right of privacy no longer subsists and it becomes a legitimate subject for comment by the Press and Media amongst others. The same is precisely the fact situation in the present case," it said.

Additionally, the Court also accepted an argument by the filmmakers that the petitioner had an alternative approach of heading to the Central government for revoking or suspending the censor certificate granted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), instead of coming to the Court directly.

The controversy had previously been addressed by Emraan Hashmi in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, where he expressed the team’s awareness of the issue’s sensitivity. “All I can say is that I think we have been very sensitive to the overall issue. We are not passing judgement or pointing a finger at a particular thing in this film on the case. We have extrapolated certain things inspired from that case. We have been very sensitive in the way we have documented it in the film. Again, it’s a sensitive thing, so I can’t really go beyond that,” he had said.

Directed by Suparn S. Varma, Haq marks the first on-screen collaboration between Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam Dhar. Early screenings have already earned the film strong praise from critics for its compelling narrative and performances.

With the court’s decision now clearing the path, we believe Haq will arrive in cinemas on November 7, as originally planned.

Thamma director Aditya Sarpotdar defends use of item songs: “They’re marketing assets, but my story unfolds through them”

Filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar, who is currently basking in the success of his latest release Thamma, has addressed the ongoing criticism surrounding the film’s inclusion of three item songs — ‘Poison Baby’, ‘Tum Mere Na Huye’, and ‘Dilbar Ki Aankhon Ka’. The director, who earlier delivered the horror-comedy hit Munjya within the universe, responded to the debate in an interview with SCREEN, explaining his creative reasoning and how such songs play a functional role in modern storytelling and marketing.

Reacting to the backlash, Sarpotdar stated, “All these things are marketing assets that lead you into a film. What counts is what the film gives you in the end. For me, when these songs appear, they’re there because my story unfolds through them.” The filmmaker emphasized that the tracks are not inserted merely for glamour but are woven into the narrative to enhance its rhythm and emotional beats.

The discussion around Thamma’s music gained traction after audiences questioned the need for three distinct item songs in a horror-comedy. Addressing the criticism head-on, Sarpotdar pointed out that audience perception seems to have shifted in recent times. “This is the same audience that loved ‘Taras’ in Munjya and ‘Aaj Ki Raat’. Nobody had a problem then. But now, suddenly, it’s an issue. Maybe it’s just happening more often, so people are reacting differently,” he remarked.

Thamma, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, marks the first love story set within the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe — an interconnected cinematic world that includes Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya. Despite receiving mixed critical reviews, the film continues to perform steadily at the box office, drawing audiences for its blend of romance, supernatural intrigue, and quirky humour.

Aditya Sarpotdar’s response reflects a broader conversation about how item songs are evolving in contemporary cinema — from being standalone entertainment numbers to narrative devices and powerful promotional tools. As he puts it, what truly matters is the story that remains long after the music fades.

With Thamma, Sarpotdar once again proves that commercial appeal and storytelling can coexist — even if it means defending a few catchy beats along the way.

EXPLOSIVE: Siddharth Sharma BLASTS makers of Soorya for non-payment of dues: "Producer told me, 'Main toh pay nahin karunga. Tujhe jo karna hai, tu kar'; they are RUINING Sunny Deol sir's name…they made me shoot an ad for Manyavar WITHOUT my consent, knowledge"

In a shocking development, actor Siddharth Sharma posted on his Instagram handle that he has dissociated himself from the Sunny Deol-starrer Soorya. The caption of the post mentioned that he has initiated legal proceedings against the makers of the film. Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to Siddharth Sharma to understand what went wrong. He began by saying, “This has happened for the first time in my career of 7-8 years. I have worked with T-Series for almost 5 years with Balaji. But I never faced something of this sort.”

Siddharth then explained, “When I was working on the reality show ‘Lock Upp’, the producers of Soorya approached Kangana Ranaut in order to reach out to me as they wanted me to sign their film. They also got my number through Vinay Sapru sir and Radhika Rao ma’am, who gave me my biggest hit to date, ‘Leja Re’. It has 1 billion views on T-Series’ YouTube channel. Both worked with the producer (Kamal Mukut) on Sanam Teri Kasam (2016). The makers took their reference as well and they got my number from them.”

Siddharth Sharma said, “At first, I didn’t entertain them. But my brother called me when I was inside. He told me that these producers have signed Sunny Deol and are looking for a younger actor for an important role. This is how the film was pitched to me, that it’s a Sunny Deol starrer. This was the time when I had already worked on Season 2 of Punch Beat. I signed an agreement with them and we began shooting the film in Jaipur. This was 2022.”

  A post shared by @siddharthhsharmaa

He continued, “The first schedule got over. It was not great, but it was overall fine. We had a contract in place which stated that I’ll get a signing amount and 20% of my remaining fees after 50% of the shoot is complete. The film got postponed. They kept on asking for dates and after taking my dates, they also kept on cancelling the shoot schedule. Those were the days when they didn’t have a lot of money. So, I didn’t put a lot of pressure on the producer. But after the success of Gadar 2 and Sanam Teri Kasam’s re-release, they had money. They also had the power and I guess they felt that it was okay to not adhere to my contract and not pay me.”

He added, “Woh log bahut pyaar se baat karte the, ‘Beta, shoot kar le. After 3 years, we are finally resuming the shoot. Sunny Deol has finally agreed to shoot’. This is how they convinced me to shoot.”

Siddharth Sharma said, “I pointed out that the contract was signed way back in 2022 and asked for a fresh contract. Also, Sunny sir and others were getting hiked fees. Hence, even I asked for a raise. They refused. I said, ‘Fair enough. But please pay me my remaining dues’. I had to cancel dates for another film I was committed to in order to shoot Soorya. This is because I have a certain look in the film. This is how I gave the film everything. Finally, when I asked for my rightful dues, they refused, citing ‘Abhi paise nahin hai’ or ‘we haven’t started clearing the payments’. I still kept asking them. One day, he threatened me on call, ‘Main toh pay nahin karunga. Tujhe jo karna hai, tu kar le. Tu apne aap ko bada hero samajta hai. Toh ban le hero’. This was wrong as I was always talking to them humbly.”

He stated, “As per the contract, I have committed to do the dubbing and promotions. But I won’t be indulging in these activities until they don’t pay me my rightful dues. Also, they also cheated on a theatrical ad which they shot for Manyavar.”

When asked for details, he replied, “They said that it’s a part of a film and it’s a scene. But I had the bound script with me and that scene wasn’t a part of it. They claimed, ‘We have added it later creatively’. But they shot an ad with me without even my consent or knowledge. This is cheating. It's only later that Manyavar told me that they wanted to do some promotional exercise with me since I had a shot an ad for their brand. I told them, ‘Which ad? I didn’t shoot any ad with Manyavar’. This is when I learned the truth. The ad features me, Sunny Sir and Virti Vaghani. The latter has worked before in Aarya, where she played Sushmita Sen’s daughter.”

With no other option, Siddharth Sharma was forced to take the legal recourse, “I sent them a legal notice, but they didn’t respond. This is when I posted about it on my Instagram handle.”

Despite the bad experience, he said, “The film is fantastic. The songs are also very nice. They have changed the film quite a bit. It is no longer the same script that I signed for. But I am okay with it as it’s a creative call and if it benefits the film. But at least, pay me my dues and stick to the legal agreement. Otherwise, what’s the point of doing an agreement?

While signing off, the young actor remarked, “They are ruining the name of Sunny Deol sir. They pitch the film using his name, saying that ‘Woh hamare hero hai; hamare saath kaam kar rahe hai’. They further added that they have been in the business since the 1970s and that they have worked with stalwarts like Rishi Kapoor as well in the past. Hence, you feel you’ll be in safe hands. But alas…”

We tried contacting producer Kamal Mukut, but he was unavailable for comment.

On November 6, the duo will visit Jodhpur to pay tribute at the memorial of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC — the heroic soldier whose extraordinary courage inspired the film.

According to a source close to the production, the visit has been planned as a heartfelt homage to the late war hero and the values of bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism that 120 Bahadur celebrates. “Farhan Akhtar and Raashii Khanna will be visiting the memorial of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, in Jodhpur on the day of the trailer launch. REVEALED: Khushi Kapoor-Karishma Tanna starrer Mom 2 goes on floors; directed by Girish Kohli of Crazxy fame

Earlier this year, in March 2025, at the 25th IIFA Awards 2025 held in Jaipur, Boney Kapoor confirmed that he’s making a film with Khushi Kapoor and that it could be a sequel to Mom (2017), starring his wife and Khushi’s mother, the late Sridevi. It has now come to light that the film is indeed titled Mom 2. Yesterday, pictures from the sets surfaced on the internet. Bollywood Hungama has now learned some interesting stuff about the film.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Mom 2 went on floors just after Diwali, on October 26, in Mumbai. Nearly 10-11 days of the shoot have been completed and it is progressing well. Khushi Kapoor plays a crucial part and she’s joined by Karishma Tanna.”

The source further said, “Mom was directed by Ravi Udyawar. The sequel, however, is directed by Girish Kohli. He was one of the story writers of the first part and also single-handedly wrote its screenplay and dialogues. Producer Boney Kapoor realized that he will do justice to Mom 2 as he knows this series well and hence, gave him the responsibility. Also, Girish has proved his worth with the Sohum Shah-starrer Crazxy, which released earlier this year.”

The source also revealed, “There’s a chatter that Boney Kapoor plans to announce this film in a grand fashion on his birthday, which falls on November 11. A clearer idea on this front will emerge in a few days.”

At the 25th IIFA Awards, Boney Kapoor had stated, “I have watched all of Khushi’s films – The Archies, Loveyapa and Nadaniyaan. I am planning a film with her too, after No Entry 2. It could be Mom 2. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeeded in this same level of perfection.”

Meanwhile, fans are hoping that Boney’s other much-awaited film, No Entry 2, also goes on floors soon. It is the sequel to 2005’s biggest hit, No Entry.

Milap Zaveri REACTS calmly to Mastiii 4 trailer being called “crap”: “Respect your opinion”

The trailer of Mastiii 4, the latest installment of the cult comedy franchise, dropped today (November 4, 2025), and within minutes, it stirred mixed reactions across social media. While long-time fans of the series rejoiced at the reunion of Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani, others expressed discomfort over its bold, adult-themed humour.

The trailer, which marks the return of director Milap Milan Zaveri to the comedy space, faced sharp criticism from a section of netizens for its language and suggestive scenes. One journalist called the trailer “ridiculous,” quoting a dialogue to highlight what they felt was a lack of sensitivity.

Responding to the criticism, Zaveri took a measured and respectful approach. Replying directly to the journalist, he wrote, “Respect your opinion bhai. Hopefully audiences will enjoy it,” indicating that he was unfazed by the negative comments and confident in the film’s entertainment value.

Despite the online chatter, the makers are optimistic. Backed by Zee Studios and Waveband Production in association with Maruti International and Balaji Motion Pictures, Mastiii 4 is being pitched as the “biggest comedy entertainer of the year.” The film also stars Shreya Sharma, Ruhii Singh, and Elnaaz Norouzi alongside the main trio, with special appearances by Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor.

Family of Shah Bano SLAMS Haq makers for ‘distorting facts’, alleges invasion of privacy: “If the film is based only on the case, then…”

Jubair Ahmad Khan, grandson of Shah Bano Begum, has voiced strong objections to the upcoming film Haq, which is based on the landmark 1985 Supreme Court case Mohd Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum. Speaking to ANI, Jubair alleged that the film was made without the consent of Shah Bano’s family and that the teaser ‘distorts’ several facts, infringing on the family’s right to privacy.

Shah Bano, whose legal battle brought significant changes to maintenance laws for divorced Muslim women, remains a deeply personal figure for the family. Jubair criticized the filmmakers for allegedly commercializing the family’s private struggles without seeking permission. “Anything that happens affects us as a family. They didn’t ask us anything,” he said.

He alleged discrepancies in the teaser, adding, “A lot of facts in the teaser are distorted... It is our private matter that has been given a commercial angle. Common people watching the movie will think it shows true events, but it does not.”

Responding to the legal petition filed by his mother, Siddiqua Begum Khan, which seeks a stay on the release of Haq, producer’s lawyer Ajay Bagadiya stated that the film contains a disclaimer clarifying it is inspired by the Supreme Court judgment and a book titled ‘Bano, Bharat ki Beti’. Bagadiya emphasized that it is a fictionalized portrayal and not obliged to present events factually. He also questioned the legitimacy of the petitioner’s claim of being Shah Bano’s daughter, stating that there is no confirmation.

Jubair contested this defense, highlighting that the teaser conflicts with the stated basis of the film. He noted that while the book focuses on the Supreme Court case, the film includes broader aspects of Shah Bano’s life not covered by the case law. “If the film is based only on the case, then it should show the court proceedings. But in the teaser and trailer, you can see it is completely different from the true event,” he explained.

The family’s legal notice previously urged the filmmakers to halt all publication, screening, promotion, and release activities for Haq, accusing them of unauthorized use of personal life details.

The film Haq, set to release on November 7, 2025, stars Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam and is directed by Suparn S. Verma under Junglee Pictures.

Ikkis starring Dharmendra, Agastya Nanda and Jaideep Ahlawat to hit theatres on December 25

Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan's highly anticipated war drama, Ikkis, has completed filming and is now officially slated for a theatrical release on December 25, 2025. Produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films, the movie is a biographical tribute to Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who was martyred during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

The film, whose title Ikkis alludes to Khetarpal's age at the time of his sacrifice, stars Agastya Nanda in his big-screen debut as the young war hero. Veteran actor Dharmendra plays a pivotal emotional role as Arun Khetarpal's father, and the cast also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher in key roles.

Ikkis marks a significant departure for National Award-winning director Sriram Raghavan, known for his mastery of noir thrillers and crime dramas like Andhadhun and Badlapur. Raghavan described the project as a welcome break from his usual genre, focusing on an emotionally charged war story with impactful battle sequences. The film was first announced in 2019 with Varun Dhawan attached to the lead role, but delays caused by the pandemic led to a casting change before Agastya Nanda was finalized.

The film's recently released trailer has generated significant buzz across the industry, with critics and fellow actors praising its gripping narrative and Nanda's performance. The story focuses on the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 war, where the young officer displayed extraordinary courage, refusing to abandon his tank despite being critically wounded and destroying several enemy vehicles. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military honour.

For Agastya Nanda, grandson of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Ikkis serves as his first major theatrical release following his debut in the Netflix film The Archies. Industry pundits view this challenging role as a crucial opportunity for the young actor to establish himself.

The film was initially scheduled for release on October 2, 2025, to coincide with Gandhi Jayanti. However, the makers at Maddock Films later confirmed a shift to a December 2025 window, positioning it as a major cinematic event for the end of the year. While the exact date within December is still awaiting official confirmation, industry speculation points towards a potential Christmas weekend release.

Jointly backed by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Ikkis promises to be a powerful and emotional tribute to a national hero who, as the film's tagline suggests, will remain "forever twenty-one" in the annals of Indian military history.

EXCLUSIVE: Single Salma releases VPF-free at PVR Inox, Star Studio18 plays 'Avatar' card with Cinepolis; miraculous Gujarati hit Laalo gets VPF-waiver for THIS reason

On Thursday, October 30, Bollywood Hungama exclusively reported that after Jolly LLB 3, Star Studio18 once again got into a tiff with national multiplex chains on paying Virtual Print Fee (VPF), this time over their latest release, Single Salma, starring Huma Qureshi. Bollywood Hungama will now update readers on what happened after the article was published.

A trade source told us, “The discussions went on till late Thursday night. Star Studio18 once again reminded the multiplexes about their agreement that they would pay VPF only until 2024. Though they paid VPF under protest at the last minute in the case of Jolly LLB 3, they made it clear that they would not do the same for Single Salma. Last time, PVR Inox hit back and even suspended the advance bookings of Jolly LLB 3. However, this time, they didn’t object as the Competition Commission of India (CCI) investigation is undergoing. Hence, Single Salman released in the properties of PVR Inox without VPF, a rare Hindi film to have this feat.”

On September 30, 2025, CCI directed an investigation against PVR INOX Limited over allegations of abusing its dominant position by continuing to levy the VPF on film producers. The CCI has ordered its Director General to launch a detailed probe into PVR’s practices, and submit its report in 90 days.

The trade source continued, “On the other hand, the third major national chain, Cinepolis, refused to release Single Salma without VPF. This is when Star Studio18, used their trump card – Avatar: Fire And Ash. They reminded Cinepolis that if Single Salma is not released in their properties, then they would release the biggest Hollywood film of the year, scheduled for a release on December 19, in Cinepolis only if the multiplex chain agrees to pay them 65% of the revenue. This is more than the standard revenue shared with the producers in the first week, which is around 52.5%. Yet, Cinepolis didn’t budge, possibly hoping that by the time Avatar: Fire And Ash is around release, a solution to it could be found. This is how Single Salma got a release in PVR Inox but not in Cinepolis.”

How Laalo got VPF-free release

Even regional films have to pay VPF and recently, one more film also got a chance to be screened VPF-free – the Gujarati film, Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate. It was released in the dull pre-Diwali period, on October 10. The awareness was negligible and moreover, it starred new faces. As a result, it barely got any audience initially.

However, almost 2 weeks later, in a miraculous and inexplicable turn of events, the word of mouth spread and gradually, it began to attract moviegoers in hordes. Videos on social media show viewers dancing and celebrating in cinemas during the shows of Laalo.

The weekend gone by has been the best for the film and it was probably the highest performing film in Gujarat. Rajhans Cinema at Precia, Surat will play a record 20 shows a day from Monday, November 3. Many other cinemas in Gujarat are playing more than 10 shows in their properties, which shows the insane demand for the film. Even Mumbai performed well. Laalo, which is made at a meagre budget of just Rs. 50 lakhs, is now all set to earn Rs. 5 crores or even more.

#Laalo Gujarati film winning hearts across Guj. Released on 10th Oct & removed frm Cinemas within a week. Laalo is now back with a bang housefull shows everywhere & more shows being added. 2 Guj Movies #ChaniyaToli & #Laalo are ruling the BO across Guj.

A Gujarati industry insider revealed, “Initially, the distributor, Rupam Entertainment, asked multiplexes to showcase Laalo. But since the film had no buzz, several theatres rejected it. When the demand for the film suddenly rose, all the theatre chains ran towards the distributor and asked him for the film’s print. The distributor realized that he had an upper hand since the cinemas in Gujarat were extremely desperate to play Laalo. After all, the film was guaranteeing them sold-out shows.”

The insider continued, “As a result, the distributor agreed to give them the film on two conditions – since it would be the first week of the film in their theatre, he should be paid the first week terms. In short, the distributor would get a higher percentage. His second condition was that the producer would not pay VPF. The multiplexes were fine with the first condition. But they had reservations on the VPF. But the distributor was firm on the demand as the film was made on a modest budget and VPF would add to the burden on the producer. The multiplexes knew that if they didn't screen the film, it would be their loss. Hence, they agreed to both demands.”

To conclude

Both these instances can go a long way in making the case of the producers strong, who have been long demanding that the practice of VPF should end. The industry and trade now await the next development on this front.

Dharmendra hospitalised after breathlessness; condition stable at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital

Bollywood legend Dharmendra, fondly known as the 'OG He-Man,' has been admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after complaining of breathlessness. The news sparked immediate concern among his millions of fans and the wider film fraternity.

The 89-year-old veteran actor is currently under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but latest updates from the hospital indicate his condition is stable. Journalist Vickey Lalwani shared an update on social media after reportedly contacting the hospital, providing reassuring details directly from a staff member.

“Dharmendra came in complaining of breathlessness. He is in the ICU and he is sleeping now. Nothing to worry, I asked? No, right now nothing to worry. He is stable. His parameters are okay—the heart rate is 70, the blood pressure is 140 by 80. His urine output is also good,” he stated in a social media post.

While initial reports had suggested the visit was for a routine check-up, the hospital’s confirmation that the actor was admitted due to difficulty in breathing has clarified the severity of the episode. Doctors are closely monitoring the nonagenarian star, and his sons, actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, are said to be by his side.

Despite his age-related health concerns, Dharmendra has remained remarkably active. He last appeared in the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and is slated to star in the war drama Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan.
