After a long wait, the trailer of Sajid Nadiadwala and Namah Pictures's Satyaprem Ki Katha is all set for its release tomorrow. After giving a glimpse of this upcoming romantic musical love saga with the teaser and 'Naseeb Se' song, the makers dropped a beautiful poster, just a day before the release of the trailer.

Bringing the pair Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani back on the screen after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the film promises soulful music and mesmerizing larger-than-life visuals. Featuring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, the poster shows the chemistry of this magical couple.

Satyaprem Ki Katha also marks a collaboration between NGE and Namah Pictures. Interestingly, Sajid Nadiadwala and Shareen Mantri Kedia with Kishor Arora & director Sameer Vidwans won a National Award for their respective feature films. Odisha train accident: Sonu Sood requests government to set up relief fund; says, “Social media pe dukh dikhane se kuch nahi hoga”

A tragic three-train collision in Odisha on Friday evening has claimed the lives of at least 288 people and left nearly 900 injured. In the wake of this devastating incident, several celebrities, including Salman Khan, Jr NTR, Akshay Kumar, Sunny Deol, Vivek Agnihotri, and Parineeti Chopra, among others, have expressed their condolences on social media. Notably, actor Sonu Sood has dedicated a heartfelt post accompanied by a poignant message to honour the victims of the tragedy.

He has conveyed his apprehension regarding the future well-being of individuals who have lost family members or sustained permanent injuries. He stated that while those expressing condolences on social media may soon move on, he is deeply concerned about the fate of the victims once they exhaust their compensation within a few months.

He said, “hum log tweet karte hain, shok dikhate hain fir apni zindagi mein busy ho jate hain (we tweet and express grief and then get busy with our lives). But what about all those people who had left home to earn livelihood in another city, many families have vanished, will they ever be able to stand up again.”

Sonu has further urged political parties to refrain from engaging in a blame game and appealed to the government to establish a relief fund specifically for the affected individuals. He said, “I ask everyone to do something for them, the state governments, the central government should form certain kinds of policies which set an example for the future,” in the video.

This season of Khatron Ke Khiladi is set to push its brave contestants to their limits, with reports indicating a diverse line-up of celebrities participating in the show. BREAKING: Kartik Aaryan-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 to be remade in Tamil by Singam producer Gnanavel Raja

Often, Bollywood filmmakers are seen being impressed by Southern films and then remaking them for the Hindi-speaking markets. Several films which released in recent times like Vikram Vedha, Mili, Drishyam 2, Shehzada, Selfiee, Bholaa, Gumraah, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, U-Turn, Chatrapathi, Mumbaikar etc, were remakes of popular South films. And now, in a trend reversal, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022), one of the biggest blockbusters of Bollywood, is all set to be remade down South.

As per a report in Deccan Chronicle, reputed producer Gnanavel Raja has bagged the rights to the film and will remake the Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani starrer in Tamil. The report claimed that apart from Gnanavel Raja, a few more producers were also in the race to acquire the rights.

Gnanavel Raja confirmed that he has won the rights and was quoted saying, “Yes, I have purchased the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 south remake rights. I believe it's a nice story to be told here with a different spin. I am currently in the process of finalizing the cast and crew. I haven't zeroed in on anyone yet.”

An industry insider commented on this development, “This is significant. Usually, we hear of Bollywood producers purchasing rights to South films. How many times did you hear that a Bollywood film will be remade in a different language?”

He continued, “The first part, Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1993). And now it’s a vice versa scenario as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is an original film which will have a remake.”

Besides Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 also starred Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra. It is about a boy and girl who meet in the hills and then destiny takes them to an abandoned mansion where a dreaded spirit that has been trapped for 18 years. Directed by Anees Bazmee, it was released on May 20, 2022, and drew audiences in hordes, thanks to its mass appeal, hit music, a nice combo of comedy and horror and unpredictable twists. At the box office, it collected a huge Rs. 185.92 crores.

Speaking of Gnanavel Raja, he is the founder of Studio Green. The production house was established in 2006 and he has bankrolled several memorable films like Paruthiveeran (2007), Singam (2010; which was remade in Hindi as Singham in 2011), Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), Siruthai (2011), Madras (2014), Darling (2015), Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (2018) etc. His upcoming films are Kanguva, starring Suriya and Thangalaan, starring Vikram.

Sara Ali Khan to be paired with ex-boyfriend Veer Pahariya in Sky Force

Akshay Kumar is teaming up with director Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur in the Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios Production, Sky Force. The film went on floors in the month of May with Akshay Kumar and will be shot over a period of three months at various locations. The shoot is currently in progress in London, wherein the team has recreated certain parts of India.

Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learnt that Sky Force will mark the reunion of former lovers, Sara Ali Khan and Veer Pahariya. On Koffee with Karan, Sara, and Janhvi had confessed to dating two brothers, and the brothers in question were Pahariya brothers - Veer and Shikhar. While Janhvi is still going strong with Shikhar, as he has been spotted several times with to-be father-in-law, Boney Kapoor, Sara is all set to reunite with Veer on his launch pad, Sky Force.

"Sara will be joining Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya in the London schedule of Sky Force. Her character details are kept under wraps, but her role is integral to the screenplay," revealed a source close to the development to Bollywood Hungama. Dinesh Vijan has pulled off this casting coup as he believes that casting the right people is very important to escalate the buzz of a film in the present time and age. The cast now comprises Akshay Kumar with Veer Pahariya and Sara Ali Khan.

Sky Force will hit the big screen next year and will launch Veer Pahariya to the Hindi Film industry. The soon-to-be-launched actor is the son of renowned businessman, Sanjay Pahariya, who is said to be in close business terms with the Ambani family.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu confirms she will play Priyanka Chopra’s mother in Citadel India

Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be starring alongside Varun Dhawan in the Indian installment of the Citadel universe, the global-event series from Prime Video and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. The untitled Citadel series based out of India is being helmed by renowned creator duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), who are the showrunners and directors. The local installment is written by Sita R. Menon, along with Raj & DK. Following the shoot in Mumbai and North India, the unit will also head to international locales like Serbia and South Africa. The untitled Indian Original Citadel series will most likely be a prequel to Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden starrer which wrapped the first season in May 2023.

Recently, it was confirmed that Samantha Ruth Prabhu will essay the role of Priyanka Chopra’s mother in Citadel India. Speaking to E-Times, an insider said, “The international and Indian versions of Citadel are set in two different eras. Priyanka’s character is a child in Samantha’s Citadel. It’s like saying Tabu played Irrfan Khan’s mother in Life Of Pi. They didn’t even meet during the shooting.” The publication added that they called Samantha and she confirmed that she is playing Priyanka’s mother in the Citadel universe.

For the unversed, Varun Dhawan made his international debut with a cameo in Priyanka and Richard’s Citadel. In the fifth episode, Priyanka Chopra’s Nadia Sinh has a secret child with Mason Kane, played by Richard Madden and she has kept the news under wraps. During the flashback from 8 years ago, she makes a call to the terrorist Rahi Gambhir in an attempt to relocate to Spain after she finds out about her pregnancy. When she is confronted by Mason and Osy Ikhile (Carter Spence) about contacting Gambhir, she reveals that the man is, in fact, her father. Played by Paul Bazely, he helps her escape Citadel in order to move to Spain. Interestingly, the call that happens on the episode is dubbed by none other than Varun Dhawan. His cameo gets confirmed when the end credits roll and thank Varun.

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK will also serve as executive producers on the show, under their banner D2R Films. NEW SHOW ALERT! Kushal Tandon and Shivangi Joshi come together for a new romantic show called Barsatein

It seems that several channels have been of late going on a revamp mode with many new shows being launched. Sony Entertainment has launched a new show with a romantic twist and that too with a never-seen-before pair. The recent promo of this series, titled Barsatein (Rains), features Shivangi Joshi of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame as well as Kushal Tandon of Beyhadh fame.

Readers would recall that Shivangi Joshi ruled audiences in hearts as Naira in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai whereas Kushal Tandon created waves in number of his shows including Beyhadh and Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai. However, while neither of the actors have shared screen space in the past, fans have expressed their excitement about seeing a new pair onscreen.

The promo of Barsatein released earlier today, where we can see Kushal Tandon in a well-suited look walking down the streets amid pouring rain whereas Shivangi Joshi, dressed in simple Indian attire, like an independent working woman, trying to catch hold of a cab as she tries to balance her umbrella. However, Kushal gets into the cab that Shivangi stopped without a mere apology and takes off, leaving Joshi fuming over his rude behavior.

Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt Ltd, In honour of World Environment Day 2023, The Bhamla Foundation, Hungama Digital Media and Godrej Industries have come together to curate a global musical anthem with a strong message against plastic pollution. Titled 'Tik Tik PLASTIC 2.0,' this anthem serves as a rallying call to combat plastic pollution and find sustainable solutions. It is composed by the talented Shaan, with lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkere and brought to life through captivating choreography by Shiamak Davar.

This impactful initiative has garnered significant support from Godrej Industries and is a collaboration with esteemed organizations, including the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Government of India), G20 India Presidency, the United Nations Environment Programme, and the Ministry of Forest and Ministry of Environment (Maharashtra). This collective effort signifies the importance and urgency of addressing plastic pollution on a global scale. The initiative is also supported by brands like Godrej Magic and Godrej L'Affaire.

The anthem features a line-up of industry powerhouses and influential artists who have dedicated their talents to this cause. The renowned Vidya Balan, legendary Gulzar Sahab, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Shaimak Davar, Jannat Zubair, Guneet Monga, Shaan, Ricky Kej, Armaan Malik, Neeti Mohan, Raveena Tandon, Stebin Ben, Sonu Nigam, and Faisu, all unite in this anthem.

Together, Hungama Digital Media, The Bhamla Foundation, Godrej Industries, and other collaborators aim to ignite a global movement and raise awareness about the pressing issue of plastic pollution. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari ropes in Gangubai Kathiawadi writer Utkarshini Vashishtha to co-write Devika Rani and Himanshu Rai biopic

Filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is known for making slice-of-life movies like Nil Battey Sannata, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Panga, etc. But her upcoming film is of a much larger scale. It’s the biopic on the lives of yesteryear film personalities Devika Rani and Himanshu Rai. To co-write the film, Ashwiny has brought on board Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s blue-eyed writer Utkarshini Vasihshtha.

Utkarshini is credited for writing Bhansali’s magnum opus films like Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela and last year’s hit Gangubai Kathiawadi. Ashwiny made the announcement today through an Instagram post where she posted a picture of herself and Utkarshini in which both are wearing dark glasses. She captioned it, “Just love it when stars align and when we can make magic together. So excited about us director sahiba.”

Sharing more about the film, a statement from the makers said, “A big studio has the official rights to the story, and it is being planned on an elaborate scale. The project is currently in its scripting stage.”

For the unversed, Devika Rani was a star actress who ruled the Hindi cinema in the 1930s and 1940s. She was the first recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Himanshu Rai was her first husband and the founder of the studio Bombay Talkies.

The director recently took some time to share exclusive updates on his next venture in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama. In the interview, Laxman Utekar revealed that his next film will revolve around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, a significant historical figure. 

The lead role in this highly anticipated project will be portrayed by the talented actor Vicky Kaushal. When asked to share the status of the upcoming film, “We have already started our pre-production. The film will go on floors this September.”

He further added, “Vicky has begun his training for horse riding and sword fighting. He needs to gain a lot of weight. His training is currently in progress. Hopefully, we will start shooting in September.”

For the unversed, with the success of his previous ventures, including Luka Chuppi and Mimi, Laxman Utekar has established himself as a filmmaker capable of delivering compelling narratives with a perfect blend of entertainment and substance. As mentioned above, his next release is Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, it will be releasing on June 2.

SCOOP: Siddharth Anand gets Rs. 40 crores for Tiger vs Pathaan; becomes the highest-paid director at YRF

In January 2023, Siddharth Anand delivered an all-time blockbuster in the form of Pathaan, which helped Shah Rukh Khan reclaim the number 1 position of being the most bankable name in Indian Cinema. The film also broke a streak of unsuccessful films for Yash Raj Films. And now, the banner is breaking all the norms that existed before for a YRF Director. A source has informed Bollywood Hungama that Siddharth Anand has become the highest-paid director at YRF.

"Siddharth Anand will be paid Rs. 40 crores as directorial remuneration for Tiger vs Pathaan. This is the highest that a banner has paid any filmmaker to date and it's their way of felicitating Siddharth Anand for living on to the expectations of delivering tentpole entertainers time and again. YRF has also bestowed Sid with the responsibility of what is the most ambitious script to date written by Aditya Chopra as it pits Salman Khan against Shah Rukh Khan," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

Interestingly, Ayan Mukerji was paid Rs. 32 crores for War 2. "Tiger vs Pathaan will go on floors next year and will be the most expensive film of the YRF Spy Universe. It is targeted to be the biggest Indian Film and will release in 2025. Who better than Siddharth Anand to deliver a magnum opus." the source added.

Interestingly, Siddharth had signed a deal worth Rs. 65 crores with Mythri for a film with Prabhas, but he has decided to go ahead with Tiger vs Pathaan, as the ambition here was much bigger than anything else in India, which can't be quantified in monetary terms. "Directing SRK and Salman in a single film is a dream for any filmmaker in India. No one would want to miss the opportunity."

Tiger vs Pathaan will also feature Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone in key roles.

Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen to have their final hearing on their impending divorce on June 8?

The marriage of Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen and television actress Charu Asopa has been in the limelight for quite some time now. Their wedding garnered a lot of attention after the couple slammed each other for abuse and hiding information. Now it seems that they have finally decided to part ways. If reports are to be believed the final hearing on the divorce of the couple will be held on June 8.

Readers would recall that trouble started in paradise after the lockdown wherein Charu Asopa alleged that Rajeev Sen was stifling her by not letting her work and abused her on occasions whereas Rajeev blamed Charu and accused her of hiding information about her first marriage from him. A source has now stated in reports that the couple decided to reconcile their differences and even completed the cooling off period but has stuck to their decision of divorce. However, after this blame game, the couple have maintained cordial relation with each other for their daughter Ziana.

In a recent report, Rajeev Sen had stated that Ziana has been his number one priority and opened up about spending time with her. On the other hand, Charu Asopa, who has recently shifted to a new residence, also revealed about being cordial with her former husband. While Ziana has been staying with her mother with Rajeev visiting her and spending time with her occasionally, it is yet to be revealed if the estranged couple will continue to retain the same arrangement even post the divorce.

In recent reports, the couple have been maintaining that they would want to stay cordial in the future with Rajeev even confessing that he would like to be ‘good friends’ with Charu for the sake of their daughter Ziana. Charu tied the knot with Rajeev in 2019 in a simple court ceremony and the couple became parents to their daughter in 2021.

Narendranath Razdan, the grandfather of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, passed away on Thursday, June 1, at the age of 95. According to reports, he had been battling a lung infection, which led to a deterioration in his health in recent days. In a poignant tribute to her late grandfather, Alia took to her social media handle on Thursday afternoon to share a heartfelt note. 

Alongside the note, she posted a throwback video of him celebrating his 92nd birthday. The caption of her post encapsulated the essence of her beloved grandfather's life, stating, "My grandpa. My hero. Played golf till 93. Worked till 93. Made the best omelette. Told the best stories. Played the violin. Played with his great-granddaughter. Loved his cricket. Loved his sketching. Loved his family. And till the very last moment... loved his life!”

The Gully Boy actress further added, “My heart is full of sorrow but also full of joy... because all my grandpa did was give us joy, and for that, I feel blessed and grateful to have been brought up by all the light he had to give! Until we meet again." Speaking of the video, Alia can be heard requesting him to share some “wise words.” In response, he said, “Smile all the time.”

Shaheer Sheikh, Hiba Nawab starrer Woh Toh Hai Albela to go off air

Shaheer Sheikh and Hiba Nawab starrer Woh Toh Hai Albela, that currently airs on Star Bharat, received a lot of love from audiences especially for exploring a unique pairing. But it seems that the couple have failed to garner TRPs and now reports claim that the show is all set to go off air. Being the official remake of the Tamil show, Eeramana Rojave, currently this Hindi serial has completed over 350 episodes.

We hear that the channel Star Bharat has decided to axe Woh Toh Hai Albela after the show has been garnering low TRPs. Although the lead couple received a lot of appreciation when they showcased them falling in love, the several plot twists and turns that the makers have introduced lately seems to have not been received well by the audience. If these reports are to be believed, the final day of the shoot will be this month and the show is expected to go off air by mid-July. Although neither the producers nor the actors of the serial have opened about this decision.

As for the show, it primarily focuses on the post marital tribulations of Kanha and Sayuri who are caught together in a forced relationship after the demise of Sayuri’s fiancé and Kanha’s best friend and brother Chiranjeev and Chiru. The show currently focuses on the new vamp Chaman Bahar essayed by Priyamvada Kant, who is obsessed with Kanha aka Shaheer Sheikh. Currently, the Choudhary family is trying ways to get back their property from Priyamvada who has deceitfully forged papers to acquire their mansion and live a wealthy lifestyle. The family has been attempting to woo her and get her sign the papers of retrieve their properties and wealth.

Woh Toh Hai Albela airs on Star Bharat from Monday to Friday at 9 pm and is also available for streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
