Vijay Sethupathi on being accused of a sexual offence, “This kind of filthy accusation can’t upset me, my lawyer is on it”

The minute this writer read a girl named Ramya accusing Vijay Sethupathi for sexually exploiting an unknown girl, he sent the actor, a dear friend and an artiste and human being he truly admires, an anxious message.

Vijay immediately called and said, “Sir, you know me for years. Anyone who knows me even remotely would laugh at this. I know myself also. And this kind of filthy accusation can’t upset me. Sir, you seem more upset than I am. My family and close friends are also upset. To this I say, just let it slide. The woman is obviously doing it to be noticed. She has her few minutes of fame, let her enjoy it.”

Is Vijay going to let such an accusation slide? “No, Sir. I am not saying that. I am only saying that I won’t allow it to upset me. I’ve faced all kinds of whispering campaigns for seven years. Such targeting has not affected me so far. It never will.”

Vijay finds the timing of the current slander shady. “Sir, look at the timing! My new film is doing well. Probably, some jealous elements think by tarnishing me they can damage my film. It doesn’t work that way. In today’s day and age, anyone can say anything about anybody. There are no filters. All you need is an account on social media and you can write what you like without fear of a repercussion.”

Vijay isn’t in the mood to let it bother him. Nor is he letting the matter slide. “Sir my lawyer is on it as we talk. We’ve complained to cybercrime. That said, I am not going to let such a smear campaign ruin my happiness,” he said.

Mohit Suri reveals Ahaan Panday’s YRF debut was scrapped post-covid; says, “His pride and confidence were completely shattered”

The Saiyaara craze has taken the country by storm, catapulting Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda to instant fame. During a recent conversation with Komal Nahta, director Mohit Suri shared that Ahaan was initially supposed to debut in a grand YRF project, but it was ultimately scrapped. He also mentioned spending four months working closely with Ahaan to help him look more mature on screen.

Mohit Suri revealed that Ahaan and Aneet each had distinct paths leading up to their debut. He said, “Ahaan has been doing acting workshops with YRF for the last seven years. Before COVID, Ahaan and YRF were planning a grand, larger-than-life film. But post-COVID, cinema changed, and the project was dropped. The same guy who was telling everyone about his big launch—his pride and confidence were completely shattered.”

He went on to say, “People began asking him, ‘Weren’t you supposed to be launched by YRF? What happened now?’ I just know that Aditya Chopra called him after COVID and told him, ‘My faith in you hasn't diminished, but I won’t mind if you start your career elsewhere.’ But Ahaan responded, ‘No, I’ll be launched by YRF only.’ Vo bach gaya. kyunki agar pehle launch hota toh bhut chota lagta. I spent four months with him to make him appear more mature.”

The romantic musical drama follows the journey of Krrish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a struggling musician in pursuit of fame and success. Along the way, he meets Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda), an aspiring journalist who later becomes his lyricist. As their relationship blossoms into love, they face several hurdles that put their connection and strength to the test. The film resonated deeply with audiences and has gone on to become the highest-grossing love story in Indian cinema.

Son of Sardaar 2 Advance Bookings open with BOGO offer, but box office journey may be bumpy

The much-awaited action-comedy Son of Sardaar 2 is all set to storm cinemas this Friday, August 1, 2025. Headlined by Ajay Devgn and backed by Jio Studios, the film’s advance bookings are now officially open — and to sweeten the deal for fans, the makers have announced a special Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) ticket offer, applicable only for first day shows across select theatres.

The promotional offer is a strategic push to boost footfalls on opening day and create early buzz for the sequel, which follows up on the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar. The film promises to retain the franchise’s signature mix of slapstick humour, over-the-top action, and Punjabi family drama — all centred around Devgn’s larger-than-life persona.

'SON OF SARDAAR 2' ADVANCE BOOKINGS OPEN – BOGO OFFER ANNOUNCED... #SonOfSardaar2 advance bookings are now LIVE.#AjayDevgn and #JioStudios have announced a special BOGO [Buy One Get One] free ticket offer – valid only for *first day shows*. Releasing in cinemas THIS FRIDAY [1… pic.twitter.com/YfIMIsGuMf

— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) July 30, 2025

However, despite the fanfare, Son of Sardaar 2 faces an uphill battle at the box office. The film’s release is wedged between two high-profile titles — Saiyaara, which continues to dominate screens since its release last Friday, and the much-hyped War 2, slated to release just a week later on August 8. Both films have strong brand pull and big stars, creating stiff competition and potentially dividing audience attention and screen space.

Additionally, while the BOGO offer may help drive higher occupancy on Day 1, it could also impact the film’s opening day revenue. With one free ticket given for every purchase, net collections for Friday could take a hit, particularly in urban centres where the offer is expected to see significant uptake. While this may work to Son of Sardaar 2’s advantage in terms of packed houses and social media chatter, it could dampen the immediate financial return — a factor that holds weight in today’s aggressively competitive box office landscape.

Nevertheless, the film benefits from Ajay Devgn’s mass appeal and the nostalgia attached to the first installment. If early audience reactions are positive, the film could find its footing through strong word-of-mouth, especially in single screens and smaller centres where Devgn continues to draw a loyal base.

As Friday approaches, all eyes will be on how Son of Sardaar 2 navigates the crowd and the commerce — and whether this gamble of timing and ticketing will pay off.

Tanishaa Mukerji blasts critic for calling Saiyaara success ‘fake’: “What rubbish is this man saying?”

Tanishaa Mukerji has come out strongly in defence of the recently released romantic musical Saiyaara, after a podcast speaker accused the film’s team of paying Gen-Z audiences to create emotional scenes in theatres for promotional purposes.

The controversial statement was made during The Asymmetric Crew podcast, which featured the creator of The Barber Shop with Shantanu. A speaker, during a candid segment, alleged that the emotional reactions seen in theatres post-Saiyaara screenings were not genuine. “What's happening with this ridiculous Saiyaara movie. The producer of this movie, in my view, has paid ₹500 in dehadi to lots of these Gen-Z young folks to go into these theatres and put on emotional performances of crying… This is how the movie is getting promoted by the way. The whole world has now become a bunch of performers,” the speaker claimed, sparking outrage online.

In a sharp rebuttal, actress and producer Tanishaa Mukerji dismissed the criticism, calling it baseless and regressive. “Completely disagree. Times are changing and these people are stuck in the past. Love and appreciate the new. And honestly, what rubbish is this man saying? Does he know anything for a fact. He is using the phenomenon of Saiyaara to get views by talking negatively. If people are reacting to a film what is so wrong about that. Just because he cannot relate doesn’t mean the younger generation doesn’t either. Every generation is different. This is India. We react. Go watch the film see how the audiences are moved. Then talk. This is just Bollywood bashing! Brands just have to find new ways to connect to their audiences!” Tanisha said in a strongly worded statement.

Saiyaara has become somewhat of a cultural moment ever since its release, especially among younger audiences. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Ahaan Panday, nephew of veteran actor Chunky Panday, alongside newcomer Aneet Padda. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film blends soulful music with an intense love story.

While the debate rages on about modern film marketing and audience behavior, Tanishaa’s statement has sparked an important conversation on generational shifts and how emotion-driven content connects with evolving viewers.

BREAKING: 'Kesariya' team reunites for Hrithik Roshan–Kiara Advani’s romantic 'Flashback' song in War 2

In what’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated tracks of the year, Bollywood Hungama can exclusively confirm that the hitmaking team behind the iconic ‘Kesariya’—director Ayan Mukerji, composer Pritam, lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya, and singer Arijit Singh—are reuniting for a romantic track in War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.

The track, which is expected to drop this week, will be the first song from War 2 to be released, just ahead of the film’s grand Independence Day weekend opening on August 14, 2025. The internet has been buzzing with chatter about this reunion, and now, the collaboration has been officially confirmed by Yash Raj Films, the producers of the upcoming spy action thriller.

While YRF spokesperson confirms the latest update, they refrained from giving away plot details, but a source close to the development reveals, “It is a beautiful track that shows the romance between Hrithik and Kiara’s characters in War 2. The song is soft, emotional, and soulful—very different from the high-octane tone of the film. It will reveal the backstory of their relationship.”

Bollywood Hungama had earlier reported that the romantic ballad is actually a flashback number, shedding light on Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) and Kavya (Kiara Advani) and their past connection. Shot in the scenic locales of Rome and Tuscany, glimpses of the shoot had leaked online months ago, creating a frenzy among fans eager to witness this on-screen pairing’s chemistry.

With the creative forces behind Kesariya at the helm, expectations are already soaring. The emotional resonance of that song had struck a chord with millions, and this upcoming track aims to do the same, this time within the intense world of espionage and betrayal. Arijit Singh, who earlier delivered the chartbuster Ghungroo with Hrithik in War (2019), returns to lend his voice once again—this time for a more intimate and heartfelt melody.

While War 2 promises to be a visual spectacle and high-stakes action drama—especially with the formidable face-off between Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr.—this flashback love song adds a touch of vulnerability and emotional complexity to Kabir’s arc. For fans, it’s a glimpse into what Kabir once had and what may have shaped the man he has become.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, and produced by Aditya Chopra under the YRF Spy Universe, War 2 is set for a Pan-India release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil across theatres and IMAX screens. Following the blockbuster response to its teaser and trailer, this song release is poised to be the next big moment in the campaign—and it couldn’t come at a better time.

With a musical dream team at work and Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani front and centre in a roles that promise both action and aching emotion, this track is expected to set the tone for what could be the most memorable love story in the Spy Universe yet.

Akshay Kumar sells two Borivali properties for Rs 7.10 crores: Report

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has made headlines once again—this time not for a film, but a strategic real estate transaction. The actor has sold two adjoining residential properties in Mumbai’s Borivali East suburb for a combined value of Rs 7.10 crores, according to property documents reviewed on squareyards.com and filed with the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Maharashtra.

The primary property, measuring 1,101 sq. ft of carpet area, was sold for Rs 5.75 crores and comes with two car parking spaces. Akshay had purchased this unit in 2017 for Rs 3.02 crores, reflecting a significant appreciation in value. The transaction attracted a stamp duty of Rs 34.50 lakhs.

The second, smaller property spans 252 sq. ft of carpet area and was sold for Rs 1.35 crore, with a stamp duty payment of Rs 6.75 lakhs. This unit was also bought in 2017, at a then-market price of Rs 67.90 lakhs.

Both properties are located within a ready-to-move-in residential project developed by Oberoi Realty, spanning 35 acres in Borivali East. The transactions were officially registered in June 2025.

This Oberoi Realty development is fast becoming a hotspot for celebrity investments. Notably, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan made headlines in May 2024 for acquiring multiple properties within the same project.

Speaking of the professional front, the actor was last seen in Housefull 5, followed by Kannappa. He has an exciting line-up, including Jolly LLB 3, Bhooth Bangla, and Hera Pheri 3.

EXCLUSIVE: Hrithik Roshan-Kiara Advani’s War 2 love track is a ‘Flashback’ song exploring Kabir-Kavya’s past

Earlier today, it was revealed that the first song from War 2—the highly anticipated sequel in YRF’s Spy Universe—is set to release on July 31, coinciding with Kiara Advani’s birthday. Now, Bollywood Hungama can exclusively confirm that the romantic track featuring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani is a flashback number, offering audiences a deeper understanding of Kabir and Kavya’s emotional past.

The upcoming track is said to be an intense love ballad that revisits Kabir’s past, shedding light on his bond with Kavya before the events of War 2. The romantic number isn’t just a montage—it is narrative gold, revealing the roots of Kabir’s emotional vulnerability and giving audiences their first insight into the backstory between Hrithik’s mysterious spy and Kiara’s new addition to the franchise.

While the teaser and trailer of War 2 have teased Kabir’s rogue streak and high-stakes action, the flashback track adds emotional heft, giving fans a glimpse of the man behind the mission. Shot across breathtaking European locations including Rome and Tuscany, the song had already sparked massive buzz when leaked visuals from the set went viral. Now, fans can look forward to seeing those visuals come alive in a song that’s not just a treat for the ears but a pivotal piece of storytelling.

The track is sung by Arijit Singh, reuniting with Hrithik Roshan after the blockbuster Ghungroo from War (2019). The music has been composed by Pritam, who previously worked with Hrithik in Dhoom 2, further fuelling fan nostalgia for their past collaborations.

While Kiara Advani plays the pivotal role of Kavya, the spotlight continues to burn bright on Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir—a character that has grown into a fan favourite ever since his enigmatic turn in the 2019 original. With War 2, Kabir is set to return darker, more layered, and emotionally complex. This upcoming song serves as a narrative anchor, offering the audience a window into Kabir’s motivations, regrets, and perhaps the heartbreak that set him on a new path.

Produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, and directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is the next major chapter in the expanding YRF Spy Universe. The film also stars NTR Jr. and is slated for a grand release on August 14 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, across theatres and IMAX screens.

With anticipation running high and the teaser already whetting appetites, this flashback love track between Hrithik and Kiara is expected to be an emotional standout in a film dominated by action and intrigue. As Kabir prepares to return to the battlefield, this song promises to reveal what—and who—he might be fighting for.

Raveena Tandon confirms Aranyak Season 2 is not happening: “I think Season Two was written as well”

After months of speculation and hopeful anticipation, actress Raveena Tandon has finally broken her silence on the status of Aranyak Season 2 — and it’s not the news fans were hoping for. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Tandon confirmed that the sequel to Netflix India’s 2021 hit crime thriller has been shelved.

“It’s not happening. Now I can say it,” she admitted candidly. “Earlier, we all had hope. In fact, I think season two was written as well, but I am not sure what the platform has in mind.”

Tandon, who portrayed the fierce and emotionally layered cop Kasturi Dogra, had earned widespread acclaim for her powerful performance in the series. The show marked her series debut and was praised for its atmospheric storytelling, strong performances, and engaging mystery that blended folklore with modern-day crime.

“Every time they say, ‘Oh my God, it was a great show and one of our highest-viewed shows immediately after COVID.’ That was a role so close to my heart, and I loved playing that character,” she added. “But I don’t think they were able to crack a good script for season two. And then the expectations were so high, so they didn’t want to spoil that."

Aranyak was created by Charudutt Acharya and Rohan Sippy, directed by Vinay Waikul, and featured a stellar cast including Parambrata Chatterjee, Ashutosh Rana, Taneesha Joshi, Anna Ador, Zakir Hussain, and Meghna Malik. The series gained a dedicated fanbase for its gripping narrative set in the misty forests of Himachal Pradesh, where a haunting myth and a brutal crime intertwined.

Despite being one of the most-watched Indian shows on Netflix post-COVID, it now joins the list of high-potential series that never made it past the first season. Fans and critics alike had high hopes for a follow-up that would delve deeper into Kasturi’s world and unanswered threads from the finale.

While the curtain has fallen on Aranyak Season 2, Raveena’s emotional connection to the role and the show’s impact on Indian streaming content will undoubtedly remain memorable.

Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 in the works; Huma Qureshi to join cast: Report

If the buzz in the industry is anything to go by, Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 is officially in the pipeline, nearly two decades after the cult satirical comedy first hit theatres in 2006. The original film—starring Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Navin Nischol, Pravin Dabbas, Tara Sharma, Ranvir Shorey, and Vinay Pathak—earned widespread acclaim for its quirky yet grounded portrayal of middle-class Delhi and its battle against corruption and real estate scams.

According to a recent Pinkvilla report, the sequel is now in active development, with Umesh Bisht and his team at the helm of scripting and casting. A source close to the project confirmed, “Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 script is locked and presently in the casting stage. The team is aiming to start by November this year for a 2026 release. Much like the first part, this one too is an outright comic entertainer.”

The biggest update so far is the addition of actress Huma Qureshi to the ensemble. The source further revealed, “Huma has come on board as one of the main characters of Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. She heard the script and loved what is on paper. The film will most likely be produced by T-Series, and the modalities are being worked out at the moment.”

Interestingly, Huma Qureshi has been expanding her creative reach. Alongside acting, she has launched a production house with her brother and fellow actor, Saqib Saleem. “Huma has also started her own production house with her brother and the first film, Baby Do Die Do is scheduled to release soon,” the source added.

While the return of original cast members like Anupam Kher and Boman Irani is yet to be officially confirmed, anticipation is running high among fans who made the first film a sleeper hit.

In the meantime, Huma is also juggling a packed slate with the Yash-starrer Toxic, OTT projects, and now, her debut venture as a producer. Fans of the film are quite excited about this news where Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 with its witty tone and timeless relevance is all set to revive the laughter and layered satire that made the first film a classic.

In an exclusive chat on The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra Season 2, produced by Gautam Thakker Films, Akshay Kumar said, "Nahi, yeh publicity stunt nahi hai. The things went legal, so when legal things are involved, we cannot call it a publicity stunt; it is a real thing.” He further added, “But ab sab kuch thik ho gaya hai. Very soon, some kind of announcement can come. Yes, there were some ups and downs. But now everything is solved, and we are back together, and we have always been together. Yes, that's it!"

In the same interview, Akshay Kumar also lauded the success of Saiyaara. He said, “I think it's the best thing that has happened. REVEALED: Varun Dhawan shoots for six days for Ayushmann Khurrana-Rashmika Mandanna starrer Thama; Vampire vs Bhediya battle expected to be a VISUAL spectacle

The Maddock Horror Comedy Cinematic Universe has emerged as a huge success, more so after its last film, Stree 2 (2024), earned more than Rs. 500 crores at the box office. As a result, the excitement is tremendous for its next film, Thama. It stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal and is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya (2024), which was also a surprise success from this universe. It is common knowledge now that Varun Dhawan will reprise the role of Bhediya in this film. Bollywood Hungama has learned more information about the appearance of the young actor in this film.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Varun Dhawan has a lot more screen time in Thama, than in Stree 2. Even in Stree 2, he was a highlight and here, the makers have ensured that the impact of his performance is many notches higher. He shot for as many as 6 days, which clearly indicates how crucial he is to the narrative.”

The source further said, “Varun Dhawan plays Bhediya while in Thama, Ayushmann Khurrana is a vampire. The werewolf vs vampire enmity is a common trope for a long time. Blockbuster producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has taken this aspect in his upcoming release. Aditya Sarpotdar has canned it in a massive way and the action sequence between the two is expected to be a visual spectacle in terms of VFX and scale. The scene was shot in March-April this year.”

Interestingly, one of the upcoming films of Maddock Horror Comedy Cinematic Universe is Bhediya 2 and Thama is expected to give a hint about that as well. Bhediya 2 is scheduled for release on August 14, 2026 but as per trade sources, the film will be pushed due to delays. A new date for this film, as well as for other films of this universe like Shakti Shalini, originally meant for release on December 31, 2025 and Chamunda, which has been scheduled to hit cinemas on December 4, 2026, is also expected to be announced.

Thama, which will be out on Diwali 2025, marks Ayushmann Khurrana’s first release after more than 2 years. His last release, Dream Girl 2, was released on August 25, 2023. As for Varun, before Thama, he’ll be seen in a leading role in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. It will be released on the big screen on October 2 this year.

“Ekta Kapoor no longer associated with ALTT”: Balaji Telefilms clarifies stand after Indian government bans 24 OTT platforms for distributing 'vulgar' content

Following the Indian government’s recent crackdown on 24 OTT platforms for allegedly broadcasting explicit content, one of the names that surfaced was ALTT, formerly known as ALTBalaji. Amid widespread speculation and media coverage, Balaji Telefilms Limited has issued a strong clarification distancing producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor from the platform.

In an official statement released on July 26, Balaji Telefilms emphasized that the company is a “professionally run media organization” listed on both the BSE and NSE. The statement further confirmed that ALTT is now operated solely by Balaji Telefilms, following the approved amalgamation of ALT Digital Media Entertainment Ltd. with the parent company as of June 20, 2025. “No Longer Associated Since 2021” The clarification was issued in response to media reports suggesting that ALTT had been disabled by authorities and still had ties to Ekta and Shobha Kapoor. “Contrary to such reports, Ms. Ekta Kapoor and Mrs. Shobha Kapoor are not associated in any capacity whatsoever with ALTT,” the company asserted, noting that the duo had officially stepped down from their roles in June 2021.

The company strongly denied any insinuations linking them to current developments around the ban and urged media outlets to report responsibly and factually.

The controversy stems from a Ministry of Information & Broadcasting order earlier this week, which directed internet service providers to block 24 OTT platforms allegedly involved in distributing vulgar or sexually explicit content.

Murderbaad shows added in Chandigarh, Hyderabad; director Arnab Chatterjee says, "We made Murderbaad with passion and a lot of heart"

Bollywood’s July box office is seeing a clash of newcomers, with Arnab Chatterjee’s Murderbaad maintaining its presence. Despite the continued performance of Saiyaara, the thriller has sustained its run and added shows in Chandigarh, Hyderabad, and other key centers starting week 2.

The film, which opened on a modest number of screens, is gradually expanding its reach through word of mouth. Featuring Nakul Roshan Sahdev and Kanikka Kapur, it is set against a Jaipur backdrop that adds a unique visual setting to the thriller.

“Murderbaad is another surprise of the season. Despite competing with a bigger film like Saiyaara, its occupancies are climbing day by day—cinemas are reporting added shows and repeat audiences. This is how a sleeper hit builds,” said a trade analyst.

Director Arnab Chatterjee stated, “We made Murderbaad with passion and a lot of heart. The fact that audiences are discovering the film and talking about it beyond the first weekend is the biggest reward for me as a debut director. Especially when the box office finds itself packed, I am grateful that the audience is taking out time for my film.”

Industry trackers note that Murderbaad is maintaining occupancy despite competition. While Saiyaara captured early attention, Arnab Chatterjee’s debut feature is gradually building its presence. Its continued performance into the second week has drawn attention from trade analysts.

REVEALED: Kiara Advani’s character Kavya in Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR starrer War 2 is the daughter of Colonel Luthra played by Ashutosh Rana

The trailer of the biggest Hindi film of 2025, War 2, was finally unveiled earlier in the day. Unlike promos of other big-scale films, it doesn’t follow the set template. Most of the dialogues are in the form of voiceovers. Also, as reported by Bollywood Hungama earlier, it has a duration of less than 3 minutes (2 minutes and 35 seconds). As expected, it further touches upon the face-off between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. But if you observe closely, it also gives out a clue about the character of Kiara Advani.

In the teaser of War 2, which was unveiled on May 20, 2025, Kiara Advani’s bikini-clad avatar stole the show, though she appeared for a mere two seconds. But in the trailer, she gets a lot of relevance. The trailer hints that she is the love interest of Hrithik’s cool spy character, Kabir. But she’s not just an arm candy in the film. She also gets a chance to do action and that also stands out in the trailer.

However, one quick shot that is significant is where she’s in army uniform and she’s seen saluting a senior officer. The name on the tag of her uniform in this shot is Kavya Luthra. In other words, one can conclude that she is the daughter of Colonel Luthra, the mentor and head of the protagonists in the YRF Spy Universe. This adds an interesting layer to the story, more so because at a crucial point in the trailer, we also see Colonel Luthra and Kabir in a confrontational mode. In fact, Luthra even spits on the lover of her daughter. How this plays in the film will be something to watch out for.

Interestingly, a few netizens have also made this observation.

So she's the daughter of Colonel Luthra now makes sense!#WAR2TrailerEuphoria pic.twitter.com/kkkysN9J6W — aFORarthur ❁ (@curiouS_parth) July 25, 2025

Meanwhile, Kiara Advani is on cloud nine as she and her husband Sidharth Malhotra welcomed a baby boy on July 15. A few days later, on July 31, she’ll celebrate her birthday. In short, this will be her first birthday after becoming a mother.

War 2 is directed by Ayan Mukerji and releases in cinemas on August 14.

Hrithik Roshan returns as Kabir in War 2: Trailer teases high-octane clash with Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani

The much-anticipated trailer of War 2, the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films’ expanding Spy Universe, is finally out. Clocking in at 2 minutes and 39 seconds, the trailer marks the return of Hrithik Roshan as Kabir — this time in a meaner, more enigmatic avatar.

Sharing the trailer, Hrithik Roshan took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "It will not be easy to take sides in this War." Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani in lead roles, and introduces a layered conflict with no clear good or bad. The visuals hint at a clash of ideologies, loyalties, and strategies — with Kabir caught at the heart of it all.

The trailer shows Hrithik navigating through themes of patriotism and romance while facing off against both Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in a series of elaborate action sequences. Ashutosh Rana also returns as Colonel Luthra, adding another layer of tension to the narrative.

One particular moment pays homage to War (2019), where Hrithik’s Kabir is seen remembering martyred Captain Khalid Rahmani, the character previously portrayed by Tiger Shroff. The dialogue exchange evokes a sense of emotional continuity from the first film.

It will not be easy to take sides in this War. #War2Trailer is out!#War2 releasing in Hindi, Telugu & Tamil on August 14th in cinemas worldwide! @tarak9999 | @advani_kiara |#AyanMukerji |@yrf #YRFSpyUniversepic.twitter.com/x6z6jTSjCw — Hrithik Roshan (@iHrithik) July 25, 2025

War 2 also marks Hrithik’s first on-screen collaboration with Jr NTR and Kiara Advani. The trailer reveals glimpses of his dynamic chemistry with Kiara and a fiery standoff with the RRR star. This is also the first time Hrithik teams up with director Ayan Mukerji, known for his work in fantasy and adventure-driven cinema.

Released in 2019, War was the highest-grossing Indian film of that year, with Kabir quickly becoming one of the most iconic action characters in the YRF universe. War 2 builds on that legacy, with the trailer promising an evolved version of the character. Produced by Aditya Chopra, War 2 is slated to hit theatres and IMAX screens worldwide on August 14, 2025 — just ahead of Independence Day.

According to insiders, his personal collection includes a dedicated travel trunk filled with unique and unreleased models.

Yo Yo Watches is pitched as an extension of Honey Singh’s journey through fame, adversity, and reinvention. “Time doesn’t wait and neither did I,” Singh said. “I’ve lived every second with purpose, pain, passion, and persistence. From the highest highs to the lowest lows, time has been my greatest teacher... Huma Qureshi starrer Bayaan selected for TIFF 2025 Discovery section; becomes only Indian film in line-up

Bayaan, a police procedural thriller headlined by Huma Qureshi, has been officially selected for the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film will have its world premiere in TIFF’s Discovery section, making it the only Indian title featured in the category this year.

Written and directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra of Chauranga fame, Bayaan is a co-production between Platoon One Films and Summit Studios, with additional producers Kunal Kumar and Anuj Gupta, and Switzerland-based Sadik Keshwani (Guidant Films) as co-producer. Huma Qureshi also serves as an executive producer.

The film was developed through Film Independent’s LA Residency, part of the Global Media Makers (GMM) program. During the residency, Mishra was mentored by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, The Last of Us), and received guidance from writer Jeff Stockwell and story editor Ruth Atkinson.

Mishra said, “It is my attempt to bear witness to a society in transition — and to the quiet courage of those who choose to speak. I'm deeply honoured to present my second feature, Bayaan, at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Discovery section — a platform that has launched the journeys of many filmmakers I admire and cherish.”

Huma Qureshi, who has starred in a number of Indian and international productions, described Bayaan as a "timely and powerful story" exploring themes of power, faith, and systemic injustice. "Bayaan gave me the opportunity to play the kind of character I’ve long been drawn to—someone within the justice system, yet up against forces much larger than herself. It was an absolute joy to work with a team so passionate and fearless in telling a story that feels both vital and universal," she shared.

The film also stars Chandrachur Singh, Sachin Khedekar, Paritosh Sand, Avijit Dutt, Vibhore Mayank, Sampa Mandal, Swati Das, Aditi Kanchan Singh, and Perry Chhabra.

Shiladitya Bora, founder of Platoon One Films, stated, "We firmly believe this is a film with global appeal, and TIFF is the perfect launchpad to start its journey around the world. As a producer, I’m always looking for that one script that can be a breakout film for everyone involved—and with 'Bayaan', I knew we had something powerful. At Platoon One Films, our ethos is to champion newer voices and newer stories that provoke, connect, and challenge. This film truly embodies that spirit".

Bayaan features cinematography by Udit Khurana along with editing by National Award winner A. Sreekar Prasad, music by Ajay Jayanthi, and costumes by Shilpi Agarwal. The film is supported by the International Film Festival Rotterdam’s Hubert Bals Fund.

In another recent post, Tanushree shared an audio clip accompanied by a dark video, highlighting the disturbing noises she claims have become a regular part of her life. “I have also dealt with loud noises like this and other very very loud banging noises above my roof and outside my door almost every day at odd hours since 2020! Anupam Kher’s Tanvi The Great declared tax-free in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday announced that Anupam Kher’s directorial Tanvi The Great will be made tax-free in the state. The decision comes after a special screening held in Bhopal, where CM Yadav watched it alongside the veteran actor-director.

The tax exemption is expected to make the film more accessible to audiences across the state. While it is not uncommon for states to waive entertainment tax on films dealing with social issues, Tanvi The Great is among the few this year to receive such a status.

With this move, Madhya Pradesh joins a growing list of states supporting films with social themes, particularly those spotlighting neurodiversity and inclusion.

Produced by NFDC, Tanvi The Great stars debutant Shubhangi in the titular role along with Jackie Shroff, Karan Tacker, Arvind Swamy, Pallavi Joshi, Boman Irani among others.

Farah Khan’s cook, Dilip, has become a familiar face to many, thanks to the filmmaker-choreographer’s YouTube vlogs and cooking videos. Gaining considerable popularity, Dilip is now a well-known name. Dilip then joked about needing to build a swimming pool in the house, saying, “Please subscribe, because I still need to make a swimming pool.”

In the vlogs, Farah and Dilip visit the homes of Bollywood and television celebrities to cook and chat, with viewers enjoying their lively and entertaining banter. Dilip’s rising popularity even landed him a collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan for a Myntra ad. Fans thoroughly enjoy seeing Dilip appear on screen in Farah Khan’s videos.

Subhash Ghai lauds Saiyaara’s success; says, “Big stars don't guarantee big success”

Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai has expressed his admiration for the success of Saiyaara, emphasizing the importance of storytelling over star-driven casts. Known for directing iconic films like Pardes and Taal, Ghai shared his thoughts on the changing dynamics of cinema and praised Saiyaara for proving that compelling narratives continue to resonate with audiences.

In a social media post shared on Sunday, Ghai commended the film for showcasing how heartfelt storytelling, the fresh pairing of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, and balanced production values can outperform exaggerated marketing and inflated star salaries. He wrote, “When a new star cast film creates a wave at box office. It sends us a clear msg to investors n producers not to make an over budget film more than a good story needs - not to invest on main actors more than your production cost - no money spend on stars whims - no extra spend on marketing stunts. Audience is surely ready to accept a good heart warming film with right casting all over India ????????.”

The Taal director highlighted that audiences are fully prepared to welcome well-crafted, emotionally engaging films featuring the right cast—be it newcomers or seasoned actors. He added, “My heartiest congratulations to Adi Chopra n Mohit Suri for proving the fundamental principles of film making a Hindi commercial cinema and made a film Saiyaara a history today.

He attributed Saiyaara's success to its compelling direction, well-structured script, soulful music, and thoughtfully chosen cast, describing it as a film that has “made history today.”

He concluded, “Good producer good director good story script, good music n right casting big or new stars n balance budget n well shot film matters only. Nothing else. Wish u all great success. Cinema zindabad.”

Within just three days of its release, Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara has taken the box office by storm, becoming one of the top-grossing Hindi films of 2025. Marking the Bollywood debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film has already surpassed the ₹100 crore milestone globally, fuelled by full theatres and widespread word-of-mouth acclaim. With its momentum still going strong, Saiyaara now ranks as the 8th highest-grossing Hindi film of the year—and its box office run is far from over.

Subhash Ghai leases commercial property in Mumbai for Rs 3.38 lakhs monthly, totalling Rs 2.24 crores over five years: Report

Veteran filmmaker and producer Subhash Ghai, in collaboration with Crest Ventures Limited and Mukta Arts, has secured a significant commercial lease in Mumbai’s Andheri West. The deal underscores Ghai’s expanding interests beyond cinema, further solidifying his presence in the city’s thriving real estate market.

Lease Details and Financial Breakdown According to official property registration documents accessed via the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) portal and reviewed by Square Yards, the lease was formally registered in July 2025. The property, part of the Crest Mukta development, boasts a built-up area of approximately 7,500 sq ft (697 sq m) and is situated in the commercial heart of Andheri West — a popular zone for entertainment and media businesses.

The lease agreement spans 60 months (five years), with a starting monthly rent of Rs 3.38 lakh. Importantly, the rental value is structured to escalate annually by approximately 5%, reaching Rs 4.11 lakh per month by the fifth year. Over the full lease term, the cumulative rental outlay is estimated at Rs 2.24 crores.

To finalize the lease, the parties paid a security deposit of Rs 24.66 lakh, along with a stamp duty of Rs 57,500 and registration charges amounting to Rs 1,000. Crest Mukta: A Strategic Choice The property falls within the Crest Mukta project, a commercial development symbolizing the collaboration between Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts and Crest Ventures. Known for its modern amenities and central location, the complex is positioned to attract businesses in film production, media, and allied creative industries — aligning with Ghai’s cinematic legacy and network. Ghai’s Expanding Real Estate Portfolio This commercial lease follows a high-profile residential acquisition by Subhash Ghai earlier this year. In February 2025, Ghai and his wife, Mukta Ghai, purchased a premium apartment in Bandra West for Rs 24 crores. The property is located in 81 Aureate, a luxury development by MJ Shah Group, spread across 4.48 acres and featuring high-end 4BHK apartments that cater to elite buyers, including industry veterans and celebrities.

BREAKING: In a RARE instance, Saiyaara’s Monday morning shows run with strong occupancy in several centres; YRF goes against the norm and opts for Tuesday cheap ticket offer

eet PaddThe Saiyaara wave refuses to die down. Usually, there is a drop in collections on weekdays after a film performs exceptionally well on weekends. But the latest Yash Raj Films (YRF) release is proving to be an exception.

As per reports coming from across the country, Saiyaara is all set to put up a huge number on the weekdays. The advance booking for Monday is very strong and what has caught the eye is that YRF has gone against the norm by incorporating the Tuesday offer.

Since April, theatres across the country have decided to sell tickets at discounted rates, that is, at Rs. 99/149/199, every Tuesday. Films that tend to do well in Week 1, like Raid 2 and Sitaare Zameen Par, didn’t opt for this offer. But YRF has refused to follow in the footsteps of the Ajay Devgn-starrer and Aamir Khan-starrer.

A trade expert commented, “It is a given that Saiyaara’s craze is tremendous and even without the offer, the occupancy on Tuesday would have been rock solid. Hence, it is heartening that YRF took the decision of having reasonable ticket prices for their film so that audiences can watch it without burning a hole in their pocket.”

The trade expert also remarked, “Price-conscious moviegoers usually would wait for a day, especially if they know that the ticket on the next day will be cheaper. But with Saiyaara, that’s not the case. There’s tremendous urgency to watch the film and hence, many haven’t waited for Tuesday's offer. As a result, Monday will be super-strong while Tuesday will be extraordinary. Usually, films drop on Wednesday after a huge Tuesday, but again, Saiyaara might prove to be an exception even in this regard.”

The only minor downside is that theatres won’t be selling tickets for Rs. 99 for Saiyaara on Tuesday, which they usually do for the front rows. However, moviegoers, dying to watch Saiyaara, won’t mind, especially since the price of the normal seats would not exceed Rs. 149 or Rs. 199.

Meanwhile, Saiyaara’s Monday morning shows are registering tremendous occupancy in many centres, which is a rarity. The 8:20 am and 9:00 am shows at Cinepolis Seawoods, Navi Mumbai, were nearly sold out and the same applied for PVR Capital Mall, Nalasopara near Mumbai. All shows of Roopbani Cinema, Purnia, Bihar, for Monday were sold out in advance, including the morning show at 9:30 am. The 9:10 am show at Cinepolis World Trade Park Mall Jaipur, was 50% full while the 10:00 am show was nearly full.

In Ahmedabad’s Inox Himalaya Mall, Saiyaara’s 9:20 am show was half-full and was fast-filling. Even in Bengaluru, the film is super-strong. The 8:45 am show at PVR Nexus, Koramangala had an occupancy of nearly 80%. With such craze, there’s not a shred of doubt that Saiyaara is poised for a double-digit Monday and Tuesday.

A duty manager in a Mumbai multiplex told Bollywood Hungama, “Post-pandemic, such strong Monday morning occupancies were seen only for big-budget movies. This reminded me of the pre-pandemic days when college students used to crowd cinemas for 8:00 am and 9:00 am shows on the weekdays.”

Salman Khan to begin filming Battle of Galwan in August, studio shoot followed by intense Ladakh schedule: Report

After months of preparation, Salman Khan is all set to step into the shoes of a real-life hero for his next film, Battle of Galwan. The project, inspired by the chapter on Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu from Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s acclaimed book India’s Most Fearless 3 (2022), is slated to begin production in early August.

According to a report by Mid-Day, the actor will start shooting at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studio in the first week of August. A set replicating key locations has been under construction and is expected to be completed by the end of July. According to a source close to the production, the Mumbai schedule will primarily focus on the early character-building segments.

“The Mehboob Studio shoot is essential as it captures the protagonist’s backstory and personal moments before the action escalates,” the reported quoted a source explained. “The production design team has been working tirelessly to create a detailed and immersive set that reflects the setting with authenticity.”

Following the 10–12 day studio schedule, the unit will move to Ladakh, where the more physically demanding portion of the film will be shot. A unit insider revealed that the upcoming outdoor schedule includes combat sequences, night shoots, and simulated battle scenes set in the high-altitude terrain. “The Ladakh leg will be challenging,” the insider noted. “Salman has been preparing since May, undergoing physical training and familiarizing himself with military combat requirements for the role.”

It is worth noting that this comes days after Bollywood Hungama reported that Battle Of Galwan will not be releasing on Eid 2026. A source informed us, “This is because three films are already scheduled for release on March 19, 2026 – Yash-starer Toxic, the comic caper Dhamaal 4, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s intense romantic drama Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.”

Sonu Sood rescues snake in Mumbai society, warns public against taking risks

Actor Sonu Sood recently found himself in the spotlight again—not for a film, but for his quick thinking and calm demeanor during an unexpected encounter with a snake in his Mumbai residential society.

The incident took place on Saturday, July 19, when Sonu spotted a rat snake on the premises. In a video shared on his official social media account, the actor is seen handling the situation with composure, identifying the reptile as non-venomous and explaining the need for caution.

“This is a rat snake, non-venomous, but we have to be very careful,” Sonu said in the video. “If such snakes enter your society, always call professionals. I know how to handle them, so I did. But please be careful. It’s very important not to take risks.”

After safely catching the snake with his bare hands, Sonu placed it inside a pillow cover and instructed his staff to release it in a nearby forested area, ensuring the animal’s safety and return to its natural habitat.

While the video received praise for Sonu’s bravery, the actor was quick to clarify that his actions shouldn't be imitated. His core message emphasized public safety and the importance of seeking help from wildlife experts.

Beyond real-life heroism, Sonu Sood was recently seen in Fateh, a cybercrime thriller that marked his directorial debut. The film also features veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, along with Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in significant roles.

BREAKING: After Son of Sardaar 2 Suneel Darshan shifts release of Andaaz 2 to August 8 amid Saiyaara wave

First Son of Sardar 2, now Andaaz 2 — the Saiyaara snowball effect is reshaping the release calendar in a big way. Following Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardar 2, which recently postponed its release from July 25 to August 1, filmmaker Suneel Darshan has now pushed his romantic drama Andaaz 2 from August 1 to August 8.

Explaining the reason for the shift, Suneel Darshan says, “The unexpected, tumultuous opening of Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara and its anticipated sustained audience interest in the coming weeks have necessitated a reshuffling of release dates. With Son of Sardar 2 now arriving on August 1, I’ve moved Andaaz 2 to August 8.”

He further adds, “The decision was also influenced by the paucity of available screens and the complexities of multiplex programming. Andaaz 2 features newcomers and, much like Saiyaara, needs an open week to give it the breathing space and visibility it deserves.”

Darshan’s move reflects a growing industry trend where smaller or non-franchise films with fresh talent are being carefully positioned to avoid clashes — especially in a year where unexpected breakout successes like Saiyaara are rewriting the box office rulebook.

Rakesh Roshan undergoes neck angioplasty, recovering in Mumbai hospital

Veteran filmmaker and actor Rakesh Roshan, father of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, recently underwent a medical procedure for a health issue concerning his neck. The 74-year-old was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital earlier this week, where doctors performed a carotid artery angioplasty — a procedure aimed at restoring proper blood flow to the brain by clearing blocked arteries in the neck.

According to hospital sources, the surgery was successful, and Roshan is currently under observation in the recovery unit. A carotid artery angioplasty is often conducted when fatty deposits block the blood vessels that supply blood to the brain and head, increasing the risk of stroke. The procedure involves using a balloon-tipped catheter to widen the artery and improve blood flow, sometimes followed by the placement of a stent to keep the artery open.

His daughter Sunaina Roshan confirmed the news and shared an update about his health in a brief conversation with Amar Ujala Digital. She said, “Yes, papa had an angioplasty in his neck, but he’s perfectly fine now. There’s nothing to worry about. He’s resting.”

Rakesh Roshan is reported to be stable and responding well to treatment. He is expected to remain in the hospital for a few more days as a precautionary measure. The Roshan family has not yet issued an official statement, but those close to them have indicated there is no cause for immediate concern.

Rakesh Roshan has had prior health challenges, including a battle with early-stage throat cancer in 2018, which he successfully overcame. Known for directing blockbuster hits like Karan Arjun, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, and the Krrish franchise, Roshan’s health has long been a matter of public interest.

Tillotama Shome starrer Baksho Bondi – Shadowbox to open the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025

Following its world premiere at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival in the Perspective section, the Bengali film Baksho Bondi – Shadowbox, starring Tillotama Shome and produced by Shome and Jim Sarbh, will open the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025 as the Opening Night Film, marking its Australian premiere.

Co-directed by Tanushree Das and Saumyananda Sahi in their directorial debut, Baksho Bondi features Tillotama Shome as Maya, set against the backdrop of a dusty Kolkata suburb, weaving a powerful narrative of love, resilience, and the quiet strength of a working woman navigating her everyday life.

The Opening Night screening is scheduled for August 14th in Melbourne, setting the tone for the festival’s celebration of bold, layered, and deeply human stories from India.

Tillotama Shome, reflecting on the film’s journey, shared, “Baksho Bondi is incredibly close to my heart. Playing Maya was a lesson in listening to silences, in discovering strength in small acts, and in understanding how quiet resilience shapes women’s lives in a world that often overlooks them. After Berlin, bringing Maya’s story to Melbourne feels special because of the incredible strength and spirit of inclusion that radiates from Mitu, the festival director of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. This film is a love letter to working women, to dusty afternoons in Barrackpore and to the courage that quietly persists even when no one is watching.”

Mitu Bhowmick Lange, Director of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, added, “We are honoured to open IFFM 2025 with Baksho Bondi – Shadowbox, a film that exemplifies the strength of Indian independent cinema while touching on themes that are deeply personal and globally relatable. Tillotama Shome’s performance as Maya is nothing short of extraordinary, and Tanushree Das and Saumyananda Sahi have crafted a tender, honest, and visually stunning film that resonates with the spirit of resilience and hope. It is exactly the kind of cinema we are proud to showcase at IFFM, and we are excited for Australian audiences to experience this gem on our Opening Night.”

Baksho Bondi – Shadowbox further solidifies IFFM’s commitment to showcasing stories that are rooted in lived realities while embracing the power of cinematic storytelling, making it a perfect start for the 2025 edition.

Now in its 16th year, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is recognised as one of the largest platforms for Indian cinema outside India. Supported by the Victorian Government, the festival will take place from August 14 to 24. This year’s award nominees highlight a wide range of stories from across languages and formats. The IFFM Awards Night, scheduled for August 15, will honour achievements in both film and OTT categories.

EXCLUSIVE: UPI changed to OBI in Special Ops 2

It's common for Indian moviegoers to be subjected to cuts and modifications of scenes and dialogues courtesy the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Such kind of censoring also exists for the web series as evident by the latest release, Special Ops 2.

The action thriller show is based on cyber terrorism with Tahir Raj Bhasin's character playing a villain. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “He plays a cyber criminal who wants to access the data of the UPI (United Payments Interface) users for malicious intent. A scene where he mentions the same was also included in the trailer of the show.”

The source continued, “However, the word 'UPI' has been changed to 'OBI' in the show. The old trailer has also been removed and a new promo has been added. It mentions the new release date and also 'OBI'.”

An industry insider added, “Since it's a sensitive topic, the makers must have got a directive not to mention UPI. This could also be the reason why the show's release date was pushed from July 11 to July 18 as dubbing and making changes must have taken time.”

The industry insider also remarked, “The change doesn't affect the show as one can understand what the villain is talking about. Also, let's not forget that terms like Reserve Bank of India, China etc. have been allowed.”

Special Ops 2 also stars Kay Kay Menon, Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher, Prakash Raj, Parmeet Sethi, Muzzamil Ibrahim and others. It has released on July 18 on JioHotstar. The first season arrived in 2020 while a mini series named Special Ops 1.5 released in late 2021.

Akshay Kumar takes heroism off-screen; insures 650+ stuntmen across India in landmark move

Known as Bollywood’s original Khiladi, Akshay Kumar has now proven he’s a real-life hero too. In a groundbreaking move, the superstar has personally insured the lives of over 650 stuntmen and stuntwomen across India — offering them critical health and accident coverage many never had before.

This life-changing initiative arrives at a time when conversations around safety in the entertainment industry have gained urgency, especially in the wake of the tragic death of a stuntman named Raju on the set of an upcoming Tamil film by Pa Ranjith and Arya. For decades, stunt professionals have risked life and limb to deliver thrilling cinematic moments — often working with minimal safety gear and zero medical backup. A single injury can result in financial ruin, as the majority of these behind-the-scenes heroes lack basic health insurance.

Akshay Kumar’s initiative not only offers them tangible protection but also a sense of visibility and value long overdue. Speaking on behalf of the stunt community, seasoned action professional Vikram Singh Dahiya — who has worked on films like Dhadak 2, Jigra, Gunjan Saxena, Antim, and OMG 2 — expressed heartfelt appreciation.

“Thanks to Akshay sir, around 650 to 700 stuntmen and action crew members in Bollywood are now covered under insurance,” Dahiya shared. “The policy includes both health and accident coverage. If a stunt performer is injured, whether on or off set, they can avail of cashless medical treatment up to ₹5 to ₹5.5 lakh.”

This insurance plan — covering a substantial portion of the action community — is being hailed as a benchmark initiative. It demonstrates how influential figures in the film industry can use their platform to bring about meaningful, lasting change. With this bold step, Akshay Kumar is not just ensuring better safety nets for the unsung heroes of cinema — he’s setting a powerful precedent for social responsibility in showbiz.
