Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 sees increase in screen count in its third week

The Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 that released a while back has been doing brisk business at the box office. In fact the Hindi dubbed version of the film has fast emerged as the dark horse at the box office. After opening to a good start, the film which received positive reviews from the critics wowed the audience. Interestingly, Pushpa which released across 1401 screens in its first week saw an increase in screens in week 2 to 1500 screens. Now going into its third week, the film again sees an increase in screen count.

As per reports, in week 3, Pushpa will screen across 1600 screens! This increase in screens in the third week is being attributed to the high demand for the film among the audience and the fact that the Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey which was slated to release on December 31 has since been postponed. Given the sudden open slot, theatre owners and exhibitors have decided on capitalizing on the chance with a higher screen count for Pushpa: The Rise.

Given this increased screen count in week three, Pushpa: The Rise that has collected Rs. 47.09 cr till date is more than likely to see an increase in collections over the coming week.

Anushka Sharma to kick off two theatrical releases and one OTT project

Anushka Sharma’s return to the movies has been hugely speculated and anticipated by her fans and industry alike and we can now confirm that Anushka is set to sign about three premium projects! Big Hit Music denies dating rumours of BTS' RM being in a relationship since 2019; agency plans to take legal action

South Korean juggernaut BTS' label Big Hit Music is once again shutting down rumours surrounding another member. The agency has denied dating rumours surrounding the group's leader RM. It was being claimed that he has been in a relationship since 2019. Now, the agency is planning to take legal action.

According to Korean tabloid SpoTV News, Big Hit Music said in a statement on December 31, “The dating rumors involving RM are not true.” The company plans to take legal action against those spreading misinformation, malicious rumours, insults & sexual harassment towards BTS.

A YouTube channel had posted a video on December 30 claiming to show evidence that BTS' RM is dating a wealthy woman of the same age since 2019 and that they met each other through a shared interest in art.

In particular, it is being reported that this is the same YouTuber who previously spread rumours about members Jimin, V, and Jungkook. For V and Jungkook, the agency released statements denying the dating rumours.

The war drama Shershaah, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, easily became a fan favourite earlier this year when it was directly released on Amazon Prime Video in September 2021. Amid the pandemic and with cinemas still closed in the country in many states at the time, Dharma Productions took the call for direct-to-digital release and the audiences were thrilled to witness the story of Captain Vikram Batra.

The film intricately showcased the inspiring life and valorous charm of PVC Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred while fighting for his nation in the treacherous terrains of Kargil. Karan Johar urges Delhi government to reopen theatres, says 'cinemas are safe'

Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar, on Thursday, urged the Delhi government to allow cinemas to reopen after the yellow alert was announced in the state. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced strict restrictions in the city in view of the rising COVID-19 cases and a surge in the Omicron variant in the city. CM Kejriwal announced that spas, gyms, and cinema halls, that were earlier operating at 50 percent capacity, will be shut down. This announcement has come after the national capital witnessed a test positivity rate of more than 0.5% from the past two days.

Karan Johar urged the government to permit the functioning of theatres in his Twitter post that read, "We urge the Delhi Government to allow cinemas to operate. Cinemas are equipped with better ability to ensure a hygienic environment while maintaining social distancing norms as compared to other out-of-home settings."

Taapsee Pannu on her plans for marriage, “I am in no hurry to get married”

Taapsee Pannu who had a fabulous year with her twin towering achievements—Haseen Dillruba and Rashmi Rocket, has no immediate plans of tying the knot with her boyfriend former badminton player Mathias Boe.

When I ask her about marriage in 2022, she retorts, “Just because weddings are the flavour of the season? No no. Not really. I have no immediate wedding plans. I have quite a few assignments on hand. I don’t want to do a rush-rush wedding.”

Taapsee, one of the busiest actors in India wants to get married when she has the time. “Whenever I get married it will happen in a relaxed atmosphere. I am in no hurry to get married. Nothing much will change after marriage so I am not feeling any great need to take the plunge right now.”

She hopes for a more organized 2022 than 2021. “Because of the lockdown the last two years have been a little crushed and cluttered for me. I have been literally running in and out of sets trying to find time for myself and my family. This has taken a toll on my physical and mental health. I am hoping 2022 will be more peaceful. Another complaint filed against Kangana Ranaut for her 'Bheek' remark on Independence of India

The troubles for Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut (Kangana Ranaut) appear to be rising. The actress' 'Independence Bheek Remark' has sparked a firestorm of controversy. She has been the subject of yet another complaint. Kangana Ranaut recently stated that India's 1947 independence was obtained by handouts. In 2014, India achieved true independence. Her statement caused a stir, and she was criticised.

A complaint has been filed against Kangana Ranaut for allegedly making an outrageous statement by Bharat Singh (Mumbai Congress General Secretary) on December 28.

Advocates Ashish Rai and Ankit Upadhyay filed the case at the Vile Parle Police Station. According to the reports, Kangana Ranaut's careless statement was broadcasted worldwide via interviews. The complaint cites that the national dignity and honour of Indian citizens, great former freedom warriors, heroes, and former leaders have been harmed by this statement. It's been called unconstitutional and against national dignity.

Many complaints were filed against Kangana after she made this statement. Along with this, there was a demand that she returns the Padma Shri Award. People gathered on the roadside and set fire to her effigy in rage.

Jay Park steps down as CEO of H1GHR Music and AOMG - "I will remain as an advisor for both labels"

Musician Jay Park has announced that he is stepping down as the CEO of his two music labels - H1GHR Music and AOMG. The announcement was made on Friday on his social media handles.

 

In a statement released on December 31, 2021, Jay Park said, "After a lot of thought and taking time to organize my emotions I’ve decided to step down as the CEO of AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC. I know this may be shocking to a lot of people but I will remain as an advisor for both labels and we will continue to be a family and a crew. I want to thank all the fans that have trusted in me and supported me in all my endeavors and I hope you guys continue to support Aomg, H1ghr Music, and I and all the things we do for many years to come."

Court rules Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK's Jisoo starrer Snowdrop can continue be on air after civic group files case for history distortion

The Seoul Western District Court has ruled in favor of Jung Hae In and Jisoo starrer JTBC drama Snowdrop in a case brought by a civic group. Since its premiere earlier this month, Snowdrop has been caught up in allegations of problematic historical distortion, with over 300,000 citizens signing a national Blue House petition requesting that the drama be taken off-air.

Amidst the ongoing controversy, a civic group called Declaration of Global Citizens in Korea also filed for an injunction against JTBC on December 22 to stop airing the drama. As reported by Korean tabloid Soompi, while the Blue House has not yet responded to the national petition (which it is required to do once a petition surpasses the minimum of 200,000 signatures), the Seoul Western District Court dismissed the Declaration of Global Citizens in Korea’s request for an injunction on December 29.

The court explained its decision by stating, “Even if Snowdrop is based on a distortion of history, the probability that the public will blindly accept [those distortions as fact] is low.” The court went on to state that there was also currently no law in existence that protected the pro-democracy movement from historical distortion, adding that even if such a law did exist, “Unless the content of the drama directly involves [the civic group], it’s difficult to argue that it infringes on the rights of [the group].”

JTBC has continued to argue that the allegations of historical distortion are a misunderstanding that will be cleared up in future episodes, and last week, the network chose to alter its broadcast schedule to air three episodes of Snowdrop in a row in an attempt to prove it.

Meanwhile, the public is still awaiting the Blue House’s response to the national petition regarding the drama.
Besides Jung Hae-in and Jisoo, Snowdrop stars Yoo In Na, Jang Seung Jo, Yoon Se Ah, Kim Hye Yoon, and Jung Yoo Jin. It premiered on JTBC on December 18, 2021, and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 22:30 (KST).

Taylor Swift urges judge to reconsider decision of sending 'Shake It Off' lawsuit to trial

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and her attorneys are trying to dodge the copyright lawsuit over her 2014 hit ‘Shake It Off.’ After a federal judge ruled that a copyright infringement case against the singer would go to trial, Swift's lawyers are again asking him to dismiss the case in a new motion, requesting that U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald reconsider his decision.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the lawsuit alleges that Taylor Swift copied lyrics from the 2000 song ‘Playas Gon' Play’, recorded by the girl group 3LW. In court documents filed December 23, Swift's attorneys argue that allowing the case to proceed would represent an "unprecedented" decision, noting that the judge's order "does something that, as far [as] Defendants are aware, no other court has done, namely finding a potentially valid infringement claim in the use of two short public domain phrases along with allegedly similar ideas and concepts. Defendants respectfully submit that the ruling should be revisited."

“Plaintiffs admitted, and it is undisputed, that the phrases 'players gonna play' and 'haters gonna hate' are unprotected and in the public domain,” the motion from Swift's lawyers continued, adding that unless the case is dismissed, "Plaintiffs could sue everyone who writes, sings, or publicly says 'players gonna play' and 'haters gonna hate,'" and "to permit that is unprecedented and 'cheat[s] the public domain.'"

Songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler, who penned ‘Playas Gon' Play’, filed the lawsuit against Taylor Swift in 2017, arguing that the lines “the players gonna play, play, play, play, play and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate” in ‘Shake It Off’ violated the 2000 song's copyright.

Judge Fitzgerald previously dismissed the lawsuit in 2018, stating that a phrase like "haters gonna hate" is too "banal" to be protected under copyright. However, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the ruling a year later, sending the case back to the district court.

In his December 9 decision allowing the case to proceed, Fitzgerald wrote, "Even though there are some noticeable differences between the works, there are also significant similarities in word usage and sequence/structure," and denied the defendants' motion for a summary judgment.

Badshah says 'Bachpan Kya Pyaar' fame Sahdev Dirdo has regained consciousness after bike accident

Sahdev Dirdo of ‘Bachpan ka Pyaar’ was involved in an accident earlier this week. On Wednesday morning, singer Badshah, who previously collaborated with the 10-year-old youngster for a music video, told his fans about Sahdev's accident and provided an update on his health.

Badshah shared the news on his social media accounts. “Sahdev is better now and has regained consciousness. Will go to Raipur to see a good neurosurgeon. Thank you for your prayers,” he wrote on Twitter.

Badshah announced on Tuesday that Sahdev Dirdo had sustained a head injury and had been brought to the hospital. “Sahdev Dirdo had an accident, injuries on his head, unconscious, on his way to the hospital which is a 100 km away. In touch with his family and friends. I am there for him. Need your prayers,” he wrote on his Instagram stories.

Sahdev Dirdo was hurt when the motorcycle on which he was riding skid on the road in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, according to the police.Around 6:30 p.m., an accident occurred in Shabri Nagar, Sukma. According to Sukma Superintendent Sunil Sharma, Sahdev, who was not wearing a helmet, collapsed and suffered a serious head injury, while the rider had minor bruises.

After a video of him singing ‘Bachpan ka Pyaar’ went viral, Sahdev Dirdo became famous. He also appeared in the updated version of the song by rapper Badshah, which was released in August of this year.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver's divorce finalized after 10 years after separation

Action star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and award-winning journalist Maria Shriver’s marriage is officially over.  More than 10 years ago, Shriver petitioned to end her then-25-year marriage with Schwarzenegger.

A Los Angeles judge finalized the divorce on Tuesday, court records show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The pair had been married since 1986 when Shriver filed for divorce in 2011 after Schwarzenegger disclosed he had fathered a child with a member of their household staff years earlier. The revelation set off a tabloid frenzy, but Schwarzenegger and Shriver handled their divorce quietly and without lobbing accusations in court or in public. There were virtually no public actions taken in the case between the initial flurry of filings in 2011 and a resumption of court moves in June. Financial details of the settlement were kept confidential. Because the couple’s four children together are now all adults, there is no child support or custody arrangement. Settlement papers say that neither owes the other any spousal support, but both reserve the right to seek it through the court in the future.

Shriver is the daughter of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who was the sister of President John F. Kennedy, and of Sargent Shriver, the first head of the Peace Corps and a vice presidential candidate in 1972.Shriver and Schwarzenegger’s children range in age from 24 to 32. The eldest, Katherine Schwarzenegger, is an author who is married to actor Chris Pratt.

Ajnabee producer Vijay Galani passes away in London

Ajnabee, Veer, Achanak producer Vijay Galani is no more. The producer has passed away. Reportedly, it was a sudden death in London on December 29, 2021.  According to the reports, he had gone to London three months back for the treatment of blood cancer which was diagnosed a few months prior to his UK visit. However, he breathed his last on Wednesday.

Vijay Galani was a producer in Bollywood and close to several actors. He had produced the 2001 film Ajnabee, which starred Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Bipasha Basu in the lead roles. He also produced Salman Khan starter Veer in 2010, which also starred Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff, Zareen Khan, Sohail Khan.

Vijay Galani was in his 50s and survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.

Unfortunately, the yesteryears’ heart-throb of millions, has said no to the offer from Sanjay Leela Bhansali. “A huge fan of the iconic actress, who regaled us in many blockbusters in the 1960 and 1970s, SLB had approached her, but she is in no mood for a comeback. She has said no to an offer to play a prominent part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s lavish costume drama Heera Mandi for Netflix”, says a source in the know.

Further talking about the role that Mumtaz was offered, the source adds that it was a pivotal role which required the screen legend to perform an elaborate Mujra. But Mumtaz declined saying her husband would not like her dancing at her age.

As for Heera Mandi, the show that is exclusively being developed for Netflix will have 7 episodes of one hour each in the first season, to be followed by a second season in 2022. The first episode is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. He may also direct the second episode, while the closing episode will also be directed by Bhansali. The rest of the episodes will be directed by Vibhu Puri who was an assistant to Bhansali.

Sequel to Ajay Devgn starrer Raid to be made on the real life story of Kanpur based perfume trader Piyush Jain

Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has officially confirmed the sequel to his 2018 film Raid starring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz. He has revealed that the follow-up will be based on the real-life story of multiple raids at the houses and factory of perfume trader Piyush Jain in Kanpur and Kannauj.

Speaking at a panel discussion of the first edition of the Kashi Film Festival in Varanasi, the producer said that he will be making Raid 2.  The film will be replicating the raids at Jain's house and factory. The raids at his house and factory by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) led to the recovery of about Rs. 257 crore in cash, 25 kg of gold, and 250 kg of silver. Jain was arrested after the raid and the Finance Ministry has also termed it as the biggest ever seizure of cash by an enforcement agency.

Meanwhile, Raid which was released in 2018 starred Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla, and Ileana D'Cruz in the lead. The film was based on the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax department on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s. The 2018 film was directed by Raj Kumar Gupta.

Gong Yoo and Kim Tae Ri in talks star in the upcoming drama The Devil, penned by Kingdom series writer Kim Eun Hee

Following his return to drama format after several years, South Korean superstar Gong Yoo is in talks for another project. He is currently in conversations for the upcoming drama The Devil for which actress Kim Tae Ri is also in discussions. The series will be penned by Kim Eun Hee, the writer behind series like Signal, Netflix's Kingdom, and recently wrapped Jirisan.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, a source from Gong Yoo's agency Management SOOP clarified, “It’s true that he received an offer [to star in] The Devil. It’s one of the projects he’s reviewing.”

Kim Tae Ri's Management mmm commented, [The Devil] is one of the projects she got offers for. Nothing has been decided yet.”

Meanwhile, Gong Yoo recently starred in the Netflix space drama The Silent Sea which was released on the platform on December 24, 2021. Kim Tae Ri is currently working on her new drama Twenty-Five Twenty-One which is set to premiere on February 12, 2022.

Dior postpones Travis Scott collaboration; Nike and Anheuser-Busch cut ties following Astroworld tragedy

Dior has decided to postpone its fashion collaboration with 'Sicko Mode' rapper Travis Scott's Cactus Jack label following the tragic events at the rapper's Astroworld music festival in November.

"Out of respect for everyone affected by the tragic events at Astroworld, Dior has decided to postpone indefinitely the launch of products from the Cactus Jack collaboration originally intended to be included in its summer 2022 collection," Dior said in a statement to Women's Wear Daily.

As per People tablpid, it was stated that the decision was mutually made by both Dior and Travis Scott to postpone the upcoming collection due in January 2022 with both parties working to reschedule the launch at a later date. The rapper, 30, teamed up with Dior's creative director Kim Jones on the men's Spring/Summer 2022 collection, entitled Cactus Jack Dior (named after Scott's record label, Cactus Jack Records). The collaboration was set to debut in January 2022, but it is unclear if and when Dior will release the collection.

Besides Dior, Nike also distanced itself from Travis Scott following the deadly crowd surge at his Astroworld Festival concert that left 10 people dead. The apparel company announced on November 15 that it would be delaying the release of the Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack shoe "out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival." The shoes were initially set to drop on December 16.

Anheuser-Busch also announced that it is discontinuing Scott's Cacti hard seltzers (which have been sold for less than a year) and Travis Scott has also been pulled from the Coachella 2022 lineup.

Travis Scott performed at Astroworld Festival at NRG Park on November 5, 2021 in Houston, Texas. At the rapper's event, there were approximately 50,000 attendees in the audience, many of whom attempted to rush the stage when Scott's set began, causing countless concertgoers to lose consciousness after falling and being trampled. Ten people died and more than 300 people were injured as a result of a fatal crowd surge. At least 36 lawsuits have been filed against Scott and concert organizers over the incident.

SS Rajamouli confirms RRR will release on January 7, 2022

Over the past couple of days, we have seen a resurgence of Covid-19, with the Omicron variant spreading like wildfire. In light of the same, the Delhi government imposed certain restrictions, wherein theatres were shut down. Given the changing situation, the producers of Jersey have decided on rescheduling their release plans. The film is not releasing on 31 December. However, SS Rajamouli, whose next epic RRR, starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, has decided to stay firm on his release date of January 7, 2022.

Speaking exclusively to Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, Rajamouli made it clear that the film would not be rescheduled. Reasoning his decision, Rajamouli cited the fact that the film is a multi-lingual release and the period of release of the much-awaited film - Sankranti - had been finalized much earlier.

Meanwhile, Thiruvananthapuram is flooded with new posters of RRR. Amidst the striking presence of Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, director SS Rajamouli is given equal prominence in the RRR poster. Speaks volumes of the respect and popularity Rajamouli enjoys amongst moviegoers.

Hugh Jackman tests positive for Covid-19, Music Man cancels performances

The revival of Meredith Willson’s classic musical The Music Man will cancel performances through January 1 after Hugh Jackman, who plays Harold Hill, tested positive for COVID-19.

The Music Man is one of the hottest tickets on Broadway. However, like many other shows, it is struggling to keep its cast and crew healthy at a time when COVID is surging and omicron is causing breakthrough infections and contributing to record cases in New York City. Sutton Foster, Jackman’s co-star, was forced to miss several performances after coming down with the virus. She will return on January 2, with Jackman expected to resume performances on January 6.

In a video posted to social media, Jackman said his case was mild. “My symptoms are like a cold — I have scratchy throat and a bit of a runny nose — but I’m fine,” Jackman said. “And I’m just going to do everything I can to get better ASAP, and as soon as I’m cleared I’ll be back on stage heading to River City. Please stay safe, be healthy, be kind,” he added.

On Twitter, the show said all tickets for the canceled performances will be refunded or exchanged at point of purchase. Several Broadway shows have been forced to cancel performances due to breakthrough cases, including Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hamilton and The Lion King. Other productions such as Ain’t Too Proud, Jagged Little Pill and Waitress have ended their runs early as COVID continues to depress ticket sales and imperil Broadway’s revival.

The Music Man has continued performances even as Foster has been out, with Jackman going viral after he gave an emotional tribute to understudy Kathy Voytko.

Post Tadap Ahan Shetty to sign second film with Sajid Nadiadwala

It is unlikely that the newest hero on the block Ahan Shetty would move away from producer Sajid Nadiadwala who designed and executed young Shetty’s debut vehicle. Sources in the know reveal that Ahan Shetty’s second film would also be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

“Sajid wants to build Ahan’s career as an action-romance hero. He did the same with Tiger Shroff whom he introduced in Heropanti and then promoted as a star through the Baaghi franchise, Sajid has a definite plan for Ahan as well,” the source reveals.

Interestingly, Sajid Nadiadwala had no contract binding Tiger Shroff to do films. Nadiadwala has not bound Ahan to any contract either.

Squid Game creator Hwang Dong Hyuk in talks with Netflix for season 3 of the survival series

Netflix’s hit South Korean thriller series Squid Game creator is in talks with the streaming giant for the season 3 of the series. In a conversation with KBS in Korea, Hwang Dong Hyuk said that he's already had conversations with Netflix.

"I'm in talks with Netflix over season 2 as well as season 3," Hwang explained. "We will come to a conclusion any time soon."

Previously, Hwang spoke to the Associated Press about the upcoming second season of the show. "So, there's been so much pressure, so much demand, and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice," he said. "But, I will say there will indeed be a second season. It's in my head right now. I'm in the planning process currently. But I do think it's too early to say when and how that's going to happen."

This all hasn't stopped the creator from speculating about who the front-man will be in future installments of the show. In a virtual panel with Entertainment Weekly, Hwang said, "I'm not really in the right place to be discussing season 2 in an official setting, but if there were to be a season 2, in the first season that we saw Gi-hun is a character whose humanity is shown through or exposed in certain situations," Hwang explained. "In other words, his humanity is shown through a very passive manner. But I would think that in the second season, what he has learned from the games and his experience in the first season, they will all be put to use in a more active manner."

"And at the same time, as for the Front Man [Lee Byung-hun] who was also a past winner but became a Front Man, it's like Darth Vader," the creator added. "Some end up Jedi and some become Darth Vader, right? I think that maybe Gi-hun will go through a certain critical point where he is put through a test as well."

Squid Game was released worldwide on September 17, 2021, to critical acclaim and international attention. It went on to become Netflix's most-watched series, becoming the top-viewed program in 94 countries and attracting more than 142 million member households and amassing 1.65 billion viewing hours during its first four weeks from launch, surpassing Bridgerton.

Ranvir Shorey's son Haroon tests positive for Covid-19, actor to get tested on December 29

Actor Ranvir Shorey on Tuesday confirmed that his son Haroon tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic. The actor, who shares 10-year-old Haroon with former wife and actor Konkona Sensharma, tested positive for the virus when Shorey and their son took an RT-PCR test on their way back to the city from Goa.

“My son Haroon and I were on holiday in #Goa, and during the routine RT-PCR testing for the flight back to Mumbai, he has turned out to be #Covid positive," he wrote on Twitter.

Shah Rukh Khan shoots a commercial with R Balki

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has had a busy week, having returned to work last Wednesday after a three-month hiatus following his son Aryan Khan's arrest in the drugs-on-cruise case.

Now, that the actor has returned to his rightful place, he is balancing the shoot of Pathan with his appearance in Tiger 3. Khan reportedly took a day off from the two films yesterday to shoot a commercial for a premium company with ad man-director R Balki.

According to a report in a daily, the production team of the commercial reached Mehboob Studios in Bandra on Monday for the work. The shoot lasted for over ten hours. Days before the shoot, the entire crew was tested ror Covid-19 as a protocol. With the cases increasing, Shah Rukh Khan is also keeping himself and his team in check with tests being done three times a week.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan will today return to the sets of Tiger 3 to shoot with Salman Khan.

The first set of performers for the 36^th Golden Disc Awards have been announced. On December 28, the Golden Disc Awards announced that BTS, aespa, ENHYPEN, THE BOYZ, Brave Girls, Lee Mujin, Lim Young Woong, and Jeon Somi as a part of the lineup for the event.

Although BTS is currently on their extended period of rest following their BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA concert in the United States and can’t attend the event, they’ll be revealing exclusive footage from their Los Angeles concert for the first time on TV.

Besides being nominated for Rookie Artist of the Year, South Korean female group aespa is also currently nominated for a Bonsang (Main Award) in both Digital Song and Album divisions.

ENHYPEN, who won the rookie award last year, is nominated for a Bonsang in the Album division for DIMENSION: DILEMMA, which is the group’s first million-seller album.

THE BOYZ is also a nominee in the Album division with THRILL-ING. After the massive success of Rollin'and Chi Mat Ba Ram, Brave Girls will be making their first attendance at the Golden Disc Awards.

Lee Mujin will also be joining the lineup for the first time after his song ‘Traffic Light’ received much love on music charts.

Furthermore, Lim Young Woong is preparing another new special stage following his performance last year, and Jeon Somi will also be performing at the ceremony. Her single ‘Dumb Dumb’ is nominated for a Bonsang in the Digital Song division.

The 36th Golden Disc Awards will be held on January 8 at 3 p.m. KST. Lee SeungGi, Lee Da Hee, and Sung Si Kyung have been confirmed to host the show.

Kanye West buys $4.5 million mansion across from Kim Kardashian's house post divorce to 'have his kids over as much as possible'

American rapper-record producer Kanye West has purchased a California-based home right across the street from his estranged wife Kim Kardashian West, in hopes of staying close to his family.

According to People tabloid, the 44-year-old rapper purchased the home for a whopping $4.5 million, putting down more than $400,000 for the house that initially was listed for $4,079,000. Built in 1955, a "teardown," the deal was made solely to be in close proximity to Kardashian West, 41, and their children.

The reports stated that the house will be family-friendly as he wants to be able to have the kids over as much as possible. Living only in Malibu was making visits trickier for Kanye.

The rapper and the SKIMS founder share daughter North, 8, son Saint, 6, daughter Chicago, 3½, and son Psalm, 2½. Kardashian West filed for divorce from West in February after nearly seven years of marriage. The duo began dating in 2012 and got married in 2014.

Kanye West has been vocal about wanting a second chance with Kardashian West, who has been linked to Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson since they were photographed holding hands at Knott's Scary Farm in Buena Park, California in October.

Earlier this month while performing at the Free Larry Hoover concert in Los Angeles, Kanye West dedicated his song Runaway to Kardashian West. After singing the lyrics, "I need you to run right back to me, baby," he added, "more specifically, Kimberly."

He gave a similar speech at the Los Angeles Mission's Annual Thanksgiving event in November, saying, "When God brings Kimye together, there's going to be millions of families that are going to be influenced to see that they can overcome the work of the separation" and adding that, while he planned to move to be closer to his kids, he ultimately "needs to be back home."

Jersey passed with U/A certificate and ZERO cuts; is the longest Shahid Kapoor film to date

Shahid Kapoor has been impressing audiences since 2003 but that big blockbuster eluded him for a long time. He finally got a well-deserved super successful film in 2019 thanks to Kabir Singh. The romance drama was loved by audiences of all ages and ended up collecting a humongous Rs. 278.24 crore at the box office. As a result, the expectations are huge from his next film, Jersey.

The film is all set to release this Friday, that is, December 31 and its censor process was completed just yesterday, that is, on December 27. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The film has been passed with a clean U/A certificate. In other words, the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) has not asked for a single cut in the film. The film has minimal violence and intimacy and it is all within permissible limits. The film is mounted as a family entertainer. As a result, the movie was made keeping that in mind and the CBFC understood that aspect.”

The duration of Jersey stands at nearly 175 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 55 minutes. This makes Jersey the longest film of its lead actor Shahid Kapoor in his 18 ½-year-old career. Interestingly, it is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same name and the Nani starrer’s run time was 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Off late, all films of Shahid Kapoor have been lengthy. While Rangoon (2017) was 2 hours and 47 minutes long, Padmaavat (2018) and Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018)’s run time was around 2 hours and 43 minutes each. As for Kabir Singh, its length was 2 hours and 54 minutes.

A trade expert said, “It doesn’t matter as some of the best films of India and across the world have been lengthy. The recently released Pushpa is 2 hours and 59 minutes long and is being loved by one and all. It’ll be a challenge, however, for the multiplexes to accommodate the shows of Jersey along with that of ’83, Pushpa and Spider-Man: No Way Home. All the four films have a run time of 2 hours and 25 minutes plus.”

Besides Shahid Kapoor, Jersey also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. Just like the original, the remake is also directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.

Nikhil Dwivedi to produce Rajesh Khanna biopic; Farah Khan in talks to direct

India's first superstar Rajesh Khanna's biopic is in the works. Starring in movies like Anand, Aradhana, Kati Patang, Amar Prem, and Khamoshi among several films, the term superstar was coined for the actor as he stormed through massive stardom. Now, actor-producer Nikhil Dwivedi is set to produce the biopic as he has got the rights to turn Gautam Chintamani’s book, "Dark Star: The Loneliness of Being Rajesh Khanna" into a film. While Gautam will work on the adaptation, it seems like Farah Khan is in talks to direct the project.

Nikhil Dwivedi plans to take Rajesh Khanna's family's consent before going ahead with the film.

83 likely to run into losses in crores, Ranveer Singh to forego pending fee for 83?

The under-performance at the box office of the Kabir Khan directorial 83 has shocked the film industry, none more so than the producers, which include Deepika Padukone, of this lavish project. The costly film now stands to lose a major amount that runs into crores.

A source close to the producers told this writer that the blame game will start soon. “The film looks and feels like a documentary on the 1983 World Cup. Some from the production team had pointed this out while the film was being made. What was the need to shoot at the pricey Lords stadium in London when there are so many similarly vast cricket stadiums right here in India? But the naysayers were shut down by those from the film unit who were fully confident of getting the audience into theatres.”

Apparently a large chunk of Ranveer’s fee is pending. And he may be compelled to write it off to counter at least some of the losses.

For Kabir Khan the failure of 83 is a double setback after the poor response to his last directorial Tubelight. That too was a very costly film.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister warns actor Sunny Leone to take down ‘Madhuban’ music video for hurting Hindu religious sentiments

The latest music video titled ‘Madhuban’ starring Sunny Leone caused a stir after releasing on Wednesday. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra, on Sunday, has said to take down the ‘obscene’ music video. In the wake of the controversy, music label Saregama on Sunday said the company will "change" the name and lyrics of the song ‘madhuban mein Radhika naache’ after Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra alleged the music video, had hurt Hindus' religious sentiments.

"In light of recent feedback and respecting the sentiments of our fellow countrymen, we will be changing the lyrics and name of the song 'madhuban...'. The new song will replace the old across all platforms over the next three days," Saregama said.

Mr Mishra - who adds Ms Leone to a growing list of brands and artistic content he deems objectionable and has threatened with legal action, including a jewellery collection by designer Sabyasachi - claimed the video that accompanies the song hurts Hindu sentiments. "Some people continuously hurt Hindu sentiments... there are temples for Radha... we pray to her. Saqib Toshi (the music composer) can make songs concerning his religion, but such songs offend us. I will take legal advice and action will be taken if the video is not taken down in three days," he said.

In addition to the Madhya Pradesh minister, Hindu priests from Uttar Pradesh have also spoken out to go to the court if the video is not banned.

Earlier this month Narottam Mishra hit out at Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for his invitation to stand-up comics Kunal Kamra and Munawar Faruqui - who have faced cancellation of shows after pressure from the BJP and right-wing groups. Last month Mr Mishra fired another warning - to designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee - over a jewellery collection he declared was "obscene". Before that Mr Mishra lashed out at a Karva Chauth ad from Dabur, and also attacked Bollywood filmmaker Prakash Jha over the filming of a web series.

The song in question features Ms Leone dancing to a song viewed by some as describing the love between Krishna and Radha. The song is sung by Kanika Kapoor and Arindam Chakraborty.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan is on a shooting spree. Taking a break from his regular schedule, the actor headed to his Panvel farmhouse this past weekend to kick off his 56th birthday celebrations. Before the party began last night, he interacted with awaiting paparazzi outside, cut a cake, and greeted everyone.

When asked about his upcoming projects, Salman Khan confirmed the Yash Raj Films spy universe. Talking about Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently shooting his cameo as Pathan for Tiger 3, Salman Khan said, "We are both coming in Tiger 3, in Pathan as well. Tiger will release by December 2022. Hopefully, Pathan will come before it and maybe both of us will come together."

It has been reported previously that YRF plans to do crossovers of its known spies in the upcoming slate of films. Starting with Pathan which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan is set to star as Tiger. The actor has reportedly already shot his cameo. Meanwhile, currently, SRK is shooting his cameo for Tiger 3. If all goes all, both Pathan and Tiger might be seen in a future spy film which is reportedly the sequel to War starring Hrithik Roshan.

As expected, the film’s business was underwhelming. However, his Diwali release, Sooryavanshi, emerged as the first big hit of Bollywood this year and revived the cinema business. His digital film, Atrangi Re, too received a positive response. His fans and the industry are now looking forward to his next film, Prithviraj produced by Yash Raj Films. The historical drama is all set to release on January 21, 2022, and is one of the most awaited films next year.

As per a source, the trailer of the film which was scheduled to be released on 27^th December has been deferred. The source told Bollywood Hungama, “The teaser of Prithviraj was released on November 15 and met with a great response. It gave an indication about the scale and grandeur. Now, the theatrical trailer will provide viewers with a proper idea of the story and setting, and moreover, it will introduce the characters. The focus, of course, would be on Akshay Kumar’s character.”

The source revealed, “Initially, the plan was to release the trailer on December 27. However, now, the release date has been deferred by a few days.”

The source continued, “However, the trailer will be out this week, before the year 2021 ends. The producers, Yash Raj Films, will take a call on this aspect in a day or two and announce.”

Meanwhile, the trade is abuzz that the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 might result in a few changes in the release plans as well. A trade expert said, “If the numbers continue to escalate, night curfew, which has been enforced in some states, might be extended even after the New Year Holiday. And in the days to come, other states might also join the night curfew bandwagon. In such a scenario, big-ticket films might suffer as this restriction can affect the overall business. Prithviraj’s makers, too, are monitoring the situation and would take a call soon on whether they want to postpone the release of the film or whether they want to release the film on January 21 as planned.”

Directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj marks the debut of Manushi Chhillar. Besides Akshay Kumar and Manushi, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in crucial roles.

Salman Khan had this to say about the snake bite incident at his Panvel farmhouse - "It reached into my hand and bit me thrice"

Salman Khan has detailed how he was bitten by a snake at his Panvel farmhouse. He was taken to a hospital in Navi Mumbai on December 25^th night after the incident and was discharged on Sunday morning. Salman returned to the farmhouse after being released from the hospital to celebrate his 56th birthday. The actor normally spends his birthday with his family and close friends at his home on the outskirts of Mumbai.

Salman Khan, when asked about the incident, replied, “It wasn’t much, a snake had entered one of the rooms, the farmhouse is quite in the jungle in Panvel. When the snake entered the room, kids got scared so I went in to see and asked for a stick, the stick that came was a small one so I asked for a longer stick, and they got one, with which I picked up the snake with a lot of love and brought it out, and the snake wrapped itself on the stick and then it started climbing upwards. It came quite close to my hand so I caught it with my other hand and dropped the stick to be able to leave the snake (in the jungle).”

He further said, “The villagers around know what snakes come around. This was a Kandhari snake, and they started screaming ‘kandhari, kandhari, kandhari’. That’s when the snake bit me once, then there was more chaos when they screamed ‘chaavla, chaavla, chaavla’ (the snake has bit), that’s when the snake bit me again. Then they all screamed ‘hospital, hospital, hospital’, saying that I should be taken to a hospital quickly. There was so much commotion, the snake was a bit venomous, and it bit me again. I was taken to the hospital, and there we came to know that it is a different kind of snake, not the great kandhari.”

Salman was seen cutting a cake in several photos and videos circulated online. He exited the farmhouse to speak with the paparazzi that had gathered outside. The star gave them a friendly smile and posed for them. They also sang him a song. Salman then talked about the snake bite and his subsequent smile. The actor wore a black T-shirt, a black jacket, and brown colored jeans for the occasion. His neck was encircled with a chain.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan just confirmed a sequel to his 2015 flick Bajrangi Bhaijaan which was directed by Kabir Khan and starring Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Harshaali Malhotra.

Salman is also working on the third edition of the Tiger series for Yash Raj Films. Salman and actress Katrina Kaif will reprise their roles as RAW agent Tiger and ISI agent Zoya in the spy thriller helmed by Maneesh Sharma.

The actor also announced that he will play Indian espionage agent Ravindra Kaushik in a film co-produced by his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri and his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, according to sources.

Salman Khan reveals title of Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel, Pavan Putra Bhaijaan

Earlier this month, Salman Khan officially announced Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 at the pre-release event of RRR on Sunday in Mumbai. The sequel will be written by SS Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, who also penned the original film and was directed by Kabir Khan. Ringing in his 56th birthday on December 27 at midnight, the actor greeted the paparazzi at his Panvel farmhouse.

During the interaction, he confirmed the title of Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel, Pavan Putra Bhaijaan. He also dismissed the rumours about doing a SS Rajamouli project. “No there is nothing like that. If it happens it will be great as Rajamouli is a very good director. But I am definitely working with his father, K.V. Vijayendra Prasad. He has written the script of Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2016), and now he is writing its sequel too and has named it Pavan Putra Bhaijaan. As soon as he completes it, and I complete shooting these two films (Tiger 3 and Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali), I’ll start shooting them. There might also be a sequel to No Entry. Tiger should release by December 2022.”

Bajrangi Bhaijaan was helmed by Kabir Khan. The story revolved around a Hanuman devotee who meets a girl who accidentally enters India and hails from Pakistan. Played by Harshaali Malhotra, Pawan decides to reunite Munni with his family and that's how the entire story unfolds. The film also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Salman Khan confirms sequel to No Entry with Anees Bazmee on his birthday

Bollywood Hungama was first to inform that the much-awaited sequel to Anees Bazmee's super hit comedy No Entry is finally being put on the table. After much speculation, Salman Khan has confirmed the sequel.

At a media interaction on December 27 post-midnight at his Panvel farmhouse, the actor confirmed No Entry 2 is in the works. He is said to return to comic space after Tiger 3 is completed; the sequel will happen with Anees Bazmee. The actor rang in his 57th birthday in the presence of his family and friends.

A source had earlier informed Bollywood Hungama, "Anees Bazmee's scripting is complete. This time, it is going to be 9 times the fun because the trio - Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan - return in triple roles. So there will also be 9 heroines in the film. It's a massive ensemble that nobody has ever seen in the history of Bollywood. The story will follow the same catchline - three husbands trying to go astray and the madness that comes along with it."

Bhushan Kumar of T-Series along with Murad Khetani have decided to work on this project together. The film is expected to roll out by next year.

Salman Khan gets bitten by a snake at his farmhouse in Panvel; discharged from hospital

Superstar Salman Khan was bitten by a snake in the late hours of Sunday at his farmhouse in Panvel. He was immediately rushed to  Kamothe hospital in Navi Mumbai. Fortunately, the snake he was bitten by was a non-venomous snake. The actor has got the treatment done and has now recovered completely.

Reportedly,  Salman Khan's hand was bitten by the snake but the actor is doing better now. An anti-venom medicine was administered to him and after a few hours of observation, the actor was allowed to go home. He has discharged at 9 in the morning on December 26 and is currently in his farmhouse resting.

Salman Khan went to his farmhouse to celebrate his 56th birthday when the incident took place. At that time, he was sitting and chatting with some friends in the garden area. The garden area of Salman's farmhouse is huge and sits on a lot of jungle and forest terrain. Now, as he has recovered well, it is speculated that he'll host a grand bash today.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor officially announced the sequel of Bajrangi Bhaijaan at the RRR pre-release in Mumbai last week. The sequel is set to be written by S S Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, who also wrote the original film.

After BTS' SUGA, members RM and Jin test positive for COVID-19

South Korean juggernaut BTS members RM and Jin have been diagnosed with COVID-19. On the evening of Saturday, December 25, their agency updated the news on their official app about their respective diagnosis. This news come in after, SUGA was also tested positive. No members have come in contact with each other.

On Saturday, BIGHIT Music took to Weverse to release a statement that read, "BTS members RM and Jin were diagnosed with COVID-19 on the evening of Saturday, December 25. After returning on Friday the 17th from the United States following his personal schedule as part of his official vacation period, RM immediately underwent PCR testing, was found negative, and entered into self-quarantine in his home as mandated by COVID-19 control procedures. However, he underwent PCR testing today before his scheduled release from quarantine and was found to be positive for COVID-19; he is currently exhibiting no particular symptoms."

"Jin returned to Korea on Monday, December 6 and underwent PCR testing immediately after his return and again before his release from self-quarantine, and was found negative on both occasions. However, feeling flu-like symptoms this afternoon he underwent PCR testing and was found positive for COVID-19 late this evening. He is exhibiting mild symptoms including light fever, and is undergoing self-treatment at home," it further read.

"RM and Jin both completed their second round of COVID-19 vaccinations in late August, and are currently undergoing self-treatment at home as per health authority guidelines. Neither member had any contact with other members after their return to Korea. Our company will continue to provide support for the rapid recovery of RM and Jin, placing our highest priority on the health and safety of our artists. We will continue to cooperate fully with the requests and guidelines of healthcare authorities," the statement concluded.

BTS had been in Los Angeles since the end of November ahead of their four LA sold-out stadium shows. Followed by which, it was announced the group was taking a break to spend quality time with their families during holidays. All members slowly returned to Korea after their individual vacations. Jin, Jimin and Jungkook returned together on the same day, whereas V, J-Hope, RM, and Suga returned to Korea one after another after their family vacations.

Hotel Del Luna star IU donates 200 million won to help cancer patients and low-income families

South Korean singer and actress IU is known for making generous donation. On December 24, it was revealed that IU had donated 200 million won ($168,560) to Child Fund Korea.

As reported by Korean tabloid Soompi, her agency, EDAM Entertainment, confirmed that IU donated 100 million won [about $84,280] each to cancer patients and children from low-income families.

Part of the donation will be used by ChildFund Korea on behalf of low-income families to cover heating bills and acquire warm clothes for the winter. It will also go toward the support of scholarships for children and youth being raised by their grandparents. The other part of the donation will be used by Seoul ASAN Hospital to pay for the treatment and operation of women and children with cancer.

IU said, “This is a difficult time when everyone is feeling exhausted, but I wanted to share feelings of warmth and help with those who needed it. I hope that everyone can spend a warm winter without a single neighbor being left out.”

IU regularly makes donations to charities, particularly to support people in economic difficulties. For her 13th anniversary this past September, she teamed up with the various brands she models for to make a donation.

On the work front, IU released her fifth studio album Lilac in March this year. She was last seen in 2019 fantasy mystery drama Hotel del Luna, co-starring Yeo Jin Goo.  IU is scheduled to release the new album Pieces on December 29.
