Juhi Chawla files suit against the implementation of 5G in India, first hearing on 31st May

Telecommunications companies worldwide, with the support of Governments, are poised within the next few years (or months !) to roll out the 5th-generation wireless network (5G). This is set to deliver what is acknowledged to be unprecedented societal change on a global scale. Every person on Earth is assured to have instant access to super-high-speed, low-latency wireless communications from any point on the planet, even in rainforests, mid-ocean and the Antarctic.

Juhi Chawla files suit against the implementation of 5G in India, first hearing on 31st May.

India has also entered the ‘5G Race’ in an effort to flaunt its advancements and achievements in the field of technology and digital communication. However, the urge to compete in this race has somewhat distracted our Nation from taking into due consideration some alarming factors to the health of present and future generations.

If the telecommunications industry’s plans for 5G come to fruition, no person, no animal, no bird, no insect and no plant on Earth will be able to avoid exposure, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to levels of RF radiation that are 10x to 100x times greater than what exists today. These 5G plans threaten to provoke serious, irreversible effects on humans and permanent damage to all of the Earth’s ecosystems.

The accumulated clinical evidence of sick and injured human beings, coupled with experimental evidence of damage to DNA, cells and organ systems in a wide variety of plants and animals, further coupled with epidemiological evidence which supports the conclusion that the major diseases of modern civilization - cancer, heart disease and diabetes - are, in large part, caused by electromagnetic pollution, stems from a literature-base comprising of over 10,000 (ten thousand) peer-reviewed studies, a number much, much, much too large to be ignored.

Juhi shares, 'We are not against the implementation of technological advancements. On the contrary, we enjoy using the latest products that the world of technology has to offer, including in the field of wireless communications. However, whilst using the latter kind of devices, we are in a constant dilemma, because after doing our own research and studies regarding the RF radiation from wirefree gadgets and network cell towers, we have sufficient reason to believe that the radiation is extremely harmful and injurious to the health and safety of the people.'

In an official statement shared by Juhi's spokesperson reads, "The present suit is being instituted to seek a direction from this Hon'ble court to the arrayed Defendants, to certify to us and, therefore, to the public at large, that 5G technology is safe to humankind, man, woman, adult, child, infant, animals and every type of organisms, to flora, to fauna, and in support thereof, to produce their respective studies regarding RF radiation through mobile cell towers, and if not already conducted, to also conduct an efficient research, and without the participation of private interest, and to subsequently furnish the report and declare whether or not the implementation of 5G in India would be safe, keeping un regards the health and safety of the present and future citizenry on India, including little children and infants, as well as infants of generations to come."

Sonu Sood to work for COVID-19 orphans: "We need to find a more permanent financial solution to the crisis"

Come praise or flak, Sonu Sood continues to work relentlessly for the Covid- 19 affected. Sonu’s restless attention has now shifted to those children whose parents have succumbed to the pandemic.

Sonu Sood to work for COVID-19 orphans: "We need to find a more permanent financial solution to the crisis"

In an exclusive conversation, Sonu says, “I am aware of the growing situation. It is serious. I am in touch with those families, those children who have lost their parents. I had also made a request to the state governments to make the education of Covid orphans free and also to provide some kind of regular pension for those families which have lost their earning members. I am glad it's happening.”

Sonu is happy to note that the State governments have reacted quickly to the crisis. “11-12 states have already announced free education for kids, and some pension. But I think much more needs to be done in this matter. Efforts to help Covid orphans need to be more consolidated. We need to find a more permanent financial solution to the crisis. Compensation and pension should go to not only to children in government schools but also in private schools. Orphaned children are equally vulnerable in every situation. Why look at only children in government schools?”

Sonu is working on solving this government-versus-private situation. “A strict law should make it mandatory to give equal attention and compensation to children in all schools. We are trying to gather data on all the kids who are thus affected, and we are trying to do our best for them.”

Also, Sonu feels more help is needed on the civilian-individual level. “Every family who can afford it should consider adopting one such Covid orphan.”

SHOCKING: Section 375 actress Meera Chopra poses as a frontline worker and gets vaccinated; deletes post after controversy erupts

The second wave of Covid-19 has begun to ebb in the country at present. But the way the virus led to extreme devastation has prompted most people to book their slots for vaccination. Sadly, with the shortage of the vaccine in the country at present, a very limited number of people are able to get the jab, especially those under the age of 45 years.

In the midst, Meera Chopra, it seems, tried to get her first dose of vaccination using unfair means. The actress was administered the vaccine yesterday at Thane, near Mumbai, in Parking Plaza vaccination center. She even posted a picture on her Twitter and Instagram account.

Nothing seemed fishy until it came to light that she got the vaccination by posing as a frontline worker. Niranjan Davkhare, MLC and BJP’s Thane unit president, on his social media, uploaded a picture of the identity card of Meera Chopra where her designation was mentioned as that of a supervisor. This ID card belonged to an agency called Om Sai Aarogya Care Pvt Ltd. According to Niranjan, Meera Chopra flashed this card in order to get the first dose.

In no time, Meera Chopra began to get criticized for her act. Because of the controversy, she immediately deleted her picture from her social media accounts.

Niranjan Davkhare then posted a video on his Facebook account yesterday and insisted that an enquiry be done on this episode. He demanded to know whether Meera Chopra has been indeed employed by Om Sai Aarogya Care Pvt Ltd or was the card given to her only to enable her to get the vaccination.

Meera Chopra is the second cousin of Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra and began her career by acting in Tamil and Telugu films. She made her debut in Bollywood with the horror comedy, Gang Of Ghosts (2014) followed by the horror flick, 1920: London (2016). She was last seen on the big screen in the much acclaimed courtroom drama, Section 375 (2019). Last month, her gritty web series, The Tattoo Murders, was released on Disney+ Hotstar.

20 days back, Meera Chopra had revealed that two of her cousins, in their early 40s, passed away after getting infected by Covid-19. An enraged Meera had said in an interview, “I lost two very close cousins not because of Coronavirus but because the medical infrastructure has totally crumbled down. My first cousin couldn’t get an ICU bed in Bengaluru for almost two days”.

Manushi Chhillar roped in by UNICEF to raise awareness on menstrual hygiene in India

For the last four years, Manushi Chhillar has been relentlessly working towards raising awareness on menstrual hygiene in India through her non-profit advocacy platform Project Shakti. This year, on Menstrual Hygiene Day, Manushi has been roped in by UNICEF to raise awareness on the issue in India.

Manushi Chhillar roped in by UNICEF to raise awareness on menstrual hygiene in India

Manushi says, “Poor menstrual hygiene affects the health and wellbeing of women and especially girls, but we don’t very often discuss this. The existing culture of silence, misinformation and harmful myths around menstruation denies many girls the future and opportunities that they deserve.”

Poor menstrual health continues to be a cause of concern due to the lack of education on the issue, persisting taboos, and stigma, limited access to hygienic menstrual products, and poor sanitation infrastructure, that often undermines educational opportunities, health, and overall social status of women and girls in India and around the world. Too many girls are missing out on the future they deserve because of the culture of silence, misinformation, and harmful myths around menstruation.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated menstruation-related challenges for women and girls such as the disruption of access to sanitary products and correct information on periods and more.

Manushi adds, “COVID-19, lockdowns and safety precautions have disrupted access to sanitary products, adding to the challenges they face. We need to speak up to dispel menstruation-related taboos and stigma, sensitize men and boys to be supportive of girls; and support availability of essential sanitary products for girls and women in times of crisis.”

UNICEF is advocating for the following objectives this year and Manushi too will work on these through her social media platforms that has a captivated youth audience base.
1. Girls to receive menstrual hygiene education before they get their first period
2. Sensitizing men and boys to be understanding and supportive
3. Access to safe spaces and products to manage their periods
4. Dispel the taboos and open conversations about periods
5. Increase investment in menstrual health and hygiene
6. All women and girls should be able to manage their menstruation hygienically, safely, in privacy, and with dignity.

BREAKING: Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathan to be shot in as many as three European countries

The second wave of Coronavirus is here and hence, cinema halls once again had to shut shop. It’ll take a while for the theatres to reopen and to earn the confidence of the viewers. Yet, the industry hasn’t been deterred and is going ahead with its big budget productions, with the hope that cinema business would bounce back with a vengeance in the future. In fact, Pathan, the much awaited film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, was launched last year in the midst of the pandemic, when the cases had begun to reduce. And the makers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it turns out to be one of the biggest films ever in Bollywood.

BREAKING Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathan to be shot in as many as three European countries

It has been reported that the next schedule of Pathan will happen overseas. Some reports claim that the unit will film some key scenes in Russia. Some are, however, reporting that Pathan’s foreign schedule will take place in Finland.

However, a source says, “Pathan will be shot in three European countries. Which these three countries would be and when this schedule will take place, it’s difficult to say right now. It all depends on the rules in the European Union when they plan to travel. Also, producer Aditya Chopra would like all unit members to be fully vaccinated as this can be mandatory. But the pace of vaccination is slow right now, though it’s expected to pick up in a few weeks thankfully. The makers are also considering whether they can get some crew members from Europe itself, who have completed their full dose of vaccination.”

The source adds, “A clearer picture will emerge in a few weeks from now. Once that happens, YRF (Yash Raj Films) will take a call on the three countries where the shoot will take place.”

The source also says, “60% of the shoot is over. The balance 40% will take place in these foreign locations. All the grandeur and scale will be seen in the final schedule of Pathan. Aditya Chopra wants to go all out and ensure that Pathan looks like a slick product matching international standards. It’s sure to be a treat to watch the film on the big screen.”

Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, Pathan also stars Salman Khan in the role of Tiger. Pathan is a part of YRF spy universe and both the superstars coming together has significantly enhanced the buzz for the film. Bollywood Hungama had reported a few days back that Salman will have an entry scene in a helicopter in his special appearance in Pathan.

Paul Rudd played Mike Hannigan who married Phoebe Buffay, and Cole Sprouse, who played Ross’ son Ben Geller. Both the characters were prominent characters in the series. Director of the reunion special episode Ben Winston spoke to The Wrap and revealed why the two actors couldn't be part of it. He shared, “Well, we couldn’t have everybody on, because it’s only an hour and 45 minutes. And you’ve got to pay attention — the main nub of the show has got to be about the six cast members. So you can’t have too many cameos because of course, there were hundreds of amazing people who were in Friends over the years. Sadly, we couldn’t get everybody in.”

Winston also mentioned that they did invite all actors but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many couldn't make it. “You know, we did invite some people who weren’t able to make it. It’s a complicated time to be making television now because, you know, some people couldn’t fly internationally, some people were on other TV or film shoots, some people are in bubbles on stuff,” he shared.

Friends: The Reunion featured a variety of special guest appearances including David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai.
